This is no knock on NOS, but I liken NOS more to an EPCOT World Showcase pavilion. It really set the mold for what those would become. It's beautiful, rich in detail, and is a great place to stroll through -- but unlike Cars, Pandora, Potter, etc, there's nothing about it that evokes an emotional 'holy crap that's amazing!' moment nor would I ever consider waiting in line just to see the land itself.

You re right. It doesn’t have that WOW factor And yet of all the lands mentioned (I won’t comment on Pandora as I’ve never been), NOS is the only one that I personally enjoy hanging out in. Is it the food, attractions, location? Maybe all of the above. It doesn’t have that grand reveal or WOW moment but it’s withstood the test of time and is great on many levels. It feels lived in and has so much depth. The experience is so layered. In that regard, NOS still hasn’t been topped.

Teddi Barra's Swingin' arcade had this little treasure.

It also had this at one time. I would kill to own these machines.

Why don’t I remember any of this yet remember seeing CBJ many times. My parents didn’t explore anything. It was like E tickets and out.

Honestly there was nothing to see. That's why it's funny that it was even considered an attraction.

Hahah I know. Just got me thinking. My parents weren’t Sleeping Beauty Walk through kind of people. Come to think of it, I didn’t visit the enchanted Tiki Room until I was 17 years old on a trip with some high school friends.

I remember we had a cigar box that had lots of left over Disneyland tickets. Very rarely did we have any etickets left. We probably went at least twice a year because some relative would be in town so I did get to go on other rides. See pictures in the Disneyland picture thread. However, mom liked Disneyland while dad preferred Knotts. My favorite was POTC. I was totally into Captain Hook back then.

I really think it’s just art. Say what you want about little things like entrances or whatever but I highly doubt Disney would cut one of the rides. People WILL notice that.

The different Hogsmeades, Super Nintendo Worlds, Toy Story Lands, and almost all others, have/will have different attractions. I don't see why they couldn't do the same here. Of course people will "notice" but is there something inherently wrong with that?

My goodness. Out of all the new theme park lands/attractions coming in the pipeline within the next 5 years, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD is the one I'm most excited about. Even more than Star Wars Land.

PREDICTION: SNW will be the best land in CA/FL once it opens. From the details that I've been reading from insiders @ Inside Universal, this land will be unlike anything that's been done before. All I want to do is ride Mario Kart over and over. If everything goes according to plan & the budget isn't cut, the Mario Kart attraction is going to make Radiator Springs Racers look like a cheap carnie ride.

I sure hope so... I'm always rooting for everyone in the business to do amazing work. Strong competition, in the end, only helps benefit us -- the people who pay for (and love) this stuff! The Potter lands give me confidence they can knock it out of the park. But on the flip side, the recent work with Fallon, Kong, and Fast and Furious (which I'm assuming is receiving the same USH tram tour+ treatment as Kong) makes me a little worried about how they'll execute it. I really do hope it's amazing though as the material has so much potential.

The only ride cut from other Hogsmeades was Dragon Challenge simply because it was a retheme of an already existing ride in Florida that I’m sure the other parks didn’t really want to waste that kind of huge amount of space on. I’ll ask if the different Nintendo rides are still the plan and when it comes to Toy Story, really? You think people would care about that like they do with Star Wars? Lol.

I know what you mean. But I wouldn't worry.

The reasons I don't share your fears:

1. Nintendo is working in collaboration with Universal and they are WELL-KNOWN for being perfectionists. They have no problem delaying games in order to make them as good as they can be. I have no doubt they will hold UC feet to the fire the way JK Rowling did.

2. Comcast is investing Harry Potter money into this land, sparing no expense.

3. The land/attractions will not be screen based. Mario Kart will be real sets & AA's, with some AR.

I read today that Japan has gone vertical with their SNW. Obviously, they will be the first park to get the land. Do you know what's going on with Hollywood/Orlando?

Also, is it confirmed that Hollywood is not getting Donkey Kong?

Yeah...but Nintendo also has a bad habit of releasing new product to a ton of hype and then abandoning it a few years later. :) Also, I thought I read somewhere that only Japan is getting Mario Kart. Was that ever confirmed anywhere?

My understanding is that all 3 locations, Osaska, Orlando, Hollwood, will be getting Mario Kart and a Yoshi attraction. In addition, Orlando will be getting Donkey Kong, but unsure about Hollywood.
