I honestly didn't know who you were, or who said it, and I just didn't bother to scroll back through a few pages of posts to find out who said it. I was responding to a post by @phruby who was probably quoting you, but by that second degree of separation referencing a third person, I stopped tracking who said what. Obviously, I now know you quoted @tirian about DHS being "encompassing".

After about a dozen posts go by, I stop being able to track exactly who said what two pages ago. But at least I'm nice about it. :D

What I've learned from all this is that so far we are all just a bunch of fans making pre-judgements on the various Disneyland and DHS versions of this new land, based on Google Earth and other fan posts. I'm of the opinion Disneyland will have the longest lead-up to Star Wars Land and the most buffer between Star Wars and adjacent lands/themes. Also, the adjacent themes at Disneyland are physically much further away from even the entry paths.

Meanwhile, at DHS, they are going to have this literally a few yards from one of the two entry tunnels to Star Wars Land. At least it's themed to aliens from another planet, just like Star Wars?

I don't understand the scale for Toy Story Land? Why is Buzz light year towering above us? Are we the Toys toys, since we have shrunk down to the size of ants?

If they scaled the prop toys realistically to our perspective, we might as well be in the gift shop. ;)

Haha, my question is why aren't we the same size as them at least?

To your point, that's why I don't think this IP makes for a good Land.

@Practical Pig where have you been? I don't think we ever got your commentary on the GOTG:MB finished product.

I hate to break this to you... but it's doubtful that the 'berm' will be an actual mound of dirt. Just like the floating mountains in Pandora are not actually made out of rock and dirt.

I'm kidding. The Pandoran floating mountains are made out of unobtanium.

You mean like the Berm in California that IS dirt with a supporting wall on one side covered in rockwork.

For DHS, Martin signified that the berm area is a possible expansion pad. If WDW wants to fill it with dirt and then haul it away afterwards, that's their choice. I just assumed they'd leave the 'mountain' empty for a possible expansion.

But everything is done awful in Florida. That seems to be the mantra some have towards the "parks in the swamps"

I don't think anyone is saying that one is better than the other. Everyone is just commenting on the post about the transition into the new land. The original post mentioned that the California version would have siteline issues which most of us find that innacurate. I'm sure that both constructions are being designed to fit the park they are in.

Not everyone catches every post that is put on these boards. Must have missed martins post thanks.

Not to nit pick but is that really true? As we've already seen Frontierland literally butts up against the eastern edge of SW Land with one entrance literally steps away from Big Thunder Mountain. The only separation from foot traffic there is a very artfully designed berm for the DLRR. The same goes for the ROA. DL's transitions may indeed be smoother, but looking at aerial photos the distances from neighboring lands and attractions looks to be similar.

Every couple of weeks, Dave--the main....host I guess--goes to M&F alone during the work week to film the construction. Since he's alone, he mainly keeps quiet.

Surprising that he doesn't do a live or post production voice over.

Animal Kingdom is a stunning jewel, easily the best thematically cohesive park in the US. I believe I can use my unholy original thread propeiter status to cement this as fact and make everyone feel a little bit better that yes there are still wonderful things in the swamps and fortunately more eventually coming.

However, I'll log my disapproval that I would have liked to see them adapt something slightly different in the Star Wars universe for DHS... that's only my privileged clone-hating snobbery.

It definitely doesn't change the fact that this will be a stunning land on both coasts and *if* there is a discrepancy it will be no where near as bad as Potter on the East Coast versus West. Hey... there is something truly way better in the Swamps. Universal.
