so to continue my experience i will talk about smugglers revenge.

the queue is great, simple well themed and works for the storyline. its themed to what looks like a grungy hangar it even has the smell of oil and fuel which really adds to the experience. the wueue is a series of ramps that leads to a hallways with great views if the ship.

the preshow is well done and the animatronics are amazing. from there you enter a hallways that turns into the ships hallways and then the chess room. the wait was minimal in the chess room and it was easy to hear when your group is called.

going back a bit, groups are split into at least six and castmember just passes out the color coded cards. out group was brown and each card had your job assignment. our group got them in order. first twi pilot and copilot, two gunners next and one engineer.

ok now for the ride, out group only had five. when we sat down and put seatbelt on cast asks you to activate you seat by pushing button. empty seat goes automatic and program takes over.

the five people in my group had a blast, nine if us had issues with not being able to see the screens.
the screens cover every window which are almost basically over the first four seats and quite visible for the mechanics.
the whole issue with the seating facing forward with buttons in side was also not an issue for us.
for gunners before you start you have a manual and automatic button to press. we clicked in manual. then saw the three shooting buttons and placed hands over them.
Non of us are gamers and hand no problem enjoying the screens and feeling buttons besides us.

The ride was amazingly fun and exciting. our pilot kept crashing at times aming ship rumble. if he pushed down to hard the ship would free fall.

basically bad drivers make the ride more exciting.

when we finished we got a scolding from the alien dude and got some hard stares frim the crew members. the hallways were sparking and lights flickering.

now what i did not experience is the connection that was rumored between being a bad driver and being reminded in other parta of land.

what i did see was a funny encounter at the market place. a guy purchased something and when he was paying the cashier told him that he had a bounty in him.
the cashier then told him if he wanted to see something special telling him to wait and stall while she called it in to collect bounty.
the guys was shocked at first then realized what was going on and smile.
It was pretty funny as storm troopers were closed by and got distracted by a local Batuu and took them in a chase.
Thank you for this, I just find it funny that more folks are talking about the milk.

After reading the last couple of reviews about the ride, and I didn't watch the video review, I feel a bit more confident that the ride might be fun. If it's about working together to try and fly this thing, it sounds like it has potential. I don't get why some folks couldn't see the screens though, what's up with that. Are you just sitting in a ship with controls and can't see where you're going? Can anyone clarify this?

The screen showing where you're going is at the front of the cockpit, but four of the six passengers have to push buttons on a side wall to do their "jobs", forcing them to turn away from the screen for at least a few seconds at a time.

we didn't have an issue with screen visibility. i was worried about the engineering position but friends said they could see everything.
it really is about coordination and how to position yourself when you sit down.

we sat down looked at he buttons that lit up and place our hand on them. we then just kept it there and watch screens. the whole lighting of the buttons that happens is really just a guide for people.

in tested the buttons and they fire even when not lit. so keeping your eyes looking forward and hand in buttons is pretty simple.
each time you shoot you see it on screen either in blue or red depending which seat.

Would anyone be willing to snag an extra guidemap for me? Pretty please? ;-)
wish i had gotten extras, the guide maps are nice and have spot gloss UV over certain parts as accents. people with reservations also got a Batuu map. Im hoping to get another one since mine got wet.

so did Disney give out very little to the "media" I saw no reviews of all the food, from free samples. Not even blue milk samples.

Disney World seems to bury media in food, this seemed like a day early in the land, an on ride video, and a chance to see the grand opening.
The media was given plenty of food, just watch fresh baked video and you can see the amount of free stuff they got

Ridiculous that using the Disneyland shopping bag in a store inside Disneyland could be considered "breaking theme"
well it is when everything else within the land is themed to star wars. If you ask any inhabitants even those behind cashier they completely brush off what Disneyland is.
even when they ask for any discounts they dont use the words Disneyland pass. They instead ask if you have any off world credit discounts.
If Disney said it would be full emersion and WDI took the effort to do that then TDA and the department responsible for the stores should respect that.

Oh, I see, thank you. I guess I'll just have to experience it myself in November. Can't wait!

Very helpful, thanks. I imagine once you know where the buttons are, you won't have to look at them and can focus on the screen. It would take me a few rides to remember them. It sounds like the gamers have the edge on picking this up more quickly than someone like me, who rarely plays video games.

can you clarify for me what is a holocron? I have no idea what it is or is supposed to do?
Basically, a fancy voice recorder that can only be opened by force users. Usually containing Jedi/Sith lessons and vital information like a list of known force sensitive children. They appear in Clone Wars, Rebels and several of their comic series.

This may be controversial but my favorite thing about the Star Wars saga is the "force". Becoming a Jedi, using the force to guide your every path, is what got me excited about Star Wars in the first place. Does it have a presence in SWGE? I'm just curious. From my perspective, this seemed to be lost in the latest movies. I do have to say I didn't see the last one yet, but believe me I will be watching it before I go. Any thoughts on this?

Talking about visibility....I have ridden it multiple times in each position.

Pilot is the hardest to see everything that is going on around you. Engineer has the best view of everything from the back.

I would agree with people's complaints of the screen being hard to see. The "support structure" of the window certainly gets in the way.

This does concern me. I want to have very clear visibility. It's like the feet hanging down from Soarin' if your not in the front row. It's a pet peeve but it bugs me. I hope this doesn't take away from the experience.

OK, found that. Does look limited in selection. Definitely not like the massive tables of food at WDW events. Hot dogs and blue "milk", and a few small cocktails

To add to what I said....if you are an Engineer, you do have the best view from the back....but a third of the ride you have to be pressing buttons which are either on your left or right, and you are forced to turn your head that direction and look at which buttons to push. When this happens, you basically can't see the screen at all. It's pretty annoying.
