Dude, I’ve been trying to get one of you die hard Galaxy’s Edge fans to admit this for prob 2 years now.

Die hard? Do any of those exist?

lol. He’s insinuating that if you don’t like GE that you re probably not a Star Wars fan. Notice he used the word “like.” I suspect most of us will land somewhere in the “liking GE” category when they make some adjustments and when enough time passes that we shake off the disappointment of the land not living up to its massive expectations.

All I’m saying is that it’s not as easy to like Galaxy’s Edge if you don’t give two figs about Star Wars. No one would ever admit that!

Yes, if you venture out of the forum bubble there are people with different opinions. Some of them actually might love the land. Weird, I know.;)

I probably should’ve narrowed it to the sequel trilogy but whatever. Different trilogy, same franchise. It’s like debating what is real Star Trek.

I love a lot of it. I just wish they would switch up the Kylo show with a public execution or some kind of show that introduces Vi. Also some random wandering aliens, a bounty hunter character and maybe C3PO with R2. Having a performer in the Hondo costume like they had for the opening of Batuu East would also be pretty good.

Except for all the reviews of people who say they aren't SW fans and yet they like GE and its attractions.

But, you go ahead and keep trying to sell the idea that the only possible way anyone can like GE is if because they're a SW fan because of... reasons that you feel you need to convince everyone of that.

Star Wars is a movie like the Wizard of Oz and has both humor, action, and fun likable characters.

Star Wars land is like if they built a Wizard of Oz Land based off the depressing forest with the flying monkeys. No Yellow Brick Road, no Munchkin Land, no emerald city. Oh and it thematically takes place after the movie is over, so no dorothy and no wicked witch.

Who would want that?

Brilliant analogy - except we also need to remove the flying monkeys as they were lost due to budget cuts apparently.

So we're left with the abandoned, colorless forest, void of humor, fun, charm, or our favorite characters - "Hey, look kids, see that spot over there?! That's where they tore the Scarecrow apart!"

I think you're very right. The old wisdom what 'quality, not IP' is decisive seems to be more true for individual rides, not entire lands. Or parks.

I love GE. And I love SW. I find it hard to disentangle those. I also love Pandora and did think Avatar a great movie. The opposite holds true for Potter and Toy Story. Two properties I am lukewarm about, and perhaps consequently I abhore every Toy Story Land I've been to, and get overwhelmed to the point of fatigue by the endless detail of Diagon Alley. Hogsmeade I adore, so that is the exception.

GE is not a very warm land, it doesn't embrace you like a classic Disney land. The quality is certainly there, but you have to work hard at it. I likely would have been indifferent if this had been John Carter land.

Sounds a little familiar.

Interesting that my direct quote was “it’s not as easy to like Galaxy’s Edge if you’re not a SW fan” and you turned that into me selling an idea that the only possible way anyone can like GE is to be a SW fan. Sounds like you’re trying to do some convincing of your own, bro. 🤷‍♀️

Reviewers that weren't SW fans found it easy. They were surprised how much they liked it not being SW fans.

That is a trippy movie! If you compare it to the books, it actually very faithful and holds true compared to Wizard of Oz. It's very underrated. There are some pretty crazy things in the OZ books too. Dorothy isn't in most of them. Definitely worth reading them during our shut in.

It’s such a great and odd movie that was unfairly labeled as too dark and too depressing. Well, yeah. The most interesting stories usually are. Somewhere along the way Disney forgot that scaring children is what made them so loved.

She said it’s not AS easy. And I would agree that someone who is not a fan of Star Wars probably would have a tougher time enjoying the space. Not guaranteed, but it wouldn’t be surprising.

Considering the SW fans here who *don't* like it...

Aside from the public execution, Id like those additions.
