The bathroom in a Riviera tower studio is bigger than the one here. And the Riviera one doesn’t have a prison-chic stainless steel sink in it. I’m surprised the toilet isn’t metal too. Seeing Craig’s room tour made me hate the rooms even more. I bet the whole room is about the same size as a tower studio, they’re obviously smaller than even a BLT studio, but I couldn’t find a square footage of the GSC rooms. They literally have 2 people sleep in the wall in order to avoid making the rooms bigger

The room doesn’t even have a real chair with a back! It just has a couple of stools. Really? You don’t even get a CHAIR to sit on????

And it’s a good thing covid is “over” because their MO in this place is to cram the whole population of the hotel into small spaces together to be talked at.

Hey @wdwmagic do you think we could get some kind of pinned message at the top for links to videos about this, so potential victims guests wouldn't have to slog through all the comments to find them?
Potential victims guests will soon learn opinions about this.

Give it a few weeks after opening to paying guests. I guarantee you won’t publicly hear many real opinions this week.

Acting looks and feels different when you're there.
It's much like watching a concert on youtube and subjecting it to analysis is different from being there and experiencing it.
That doesn't mean that this acting isn't campy and forced - but that's part of the fun of it, and again - it's different when you're there a part of it vs viewing it critically at home on a media device.
What a load of crap. A good concert is a good concert period. Even on youtube I can watch concerts that were great when they were recorded and quality and showmanahip comes through easily. That is like saying "because you weren't at the Superbowl you can't judge how good the halftime show was'. The acting here is horrendous!

I think they'd sooner roll some of this into SWGE to drive attendance than they would drop to that price range. They an make that much from a family of 4 with 2 days worth of park tickets, food, and a deluxe hotel for 2 nights.

They do, but the assumption is that people would do this in addition to staying at a regular hotel with park tickets -- I think this would be an add-on to a regular trip for the vast majority of visitors. The main point is to keep it sold out (or close to sold out). Disney would make more money if almost every room is sold out at $2500-3000 ($2000 is probably too low) for the experience then they will if it stays at $5000-6000 and they have a bunch of vacancies, plus I don't think the experience would work nearly as well if the "cruise" was half empty.

Obviously if they can keep selling it at the current price long-term they will.

I can almost hear you all gasping like middle school girls while typing out your newest trash posts.

This is not something I'd want to do from the first time I heard about it. I'm a big SW fan, but, not so much on the larping aspect.

However, I look at it as Disney being the first to try something. There's no playbook for this. If it's a swing and a miss, so be it. What I don't understand, though, is all the posters who actually wish, and look forward to this being a failure. Why? Really, why?

The price? It sounds high, but instead of looking at a base price, of what, $4800 for 2, I look at the difference between 2 nites in a Deluxe and food and $4800. The difference is the premium you are paying, right? I think most are comparing the price between 2 days of their normal Dis vacation vs the 2 days of SW vacation. If you are comparing it between SW & 2 days sitting in your Lay Z Boy, then yeah, I see your point.

Think they did it on the cheap? The looks of the place may not match up with what you think a Starship should look like, but how much do you think that would cost? Pretty hi Castmember to Guest ratio vs any other Dis hotel, that costs money, it's not cheap.

Ok, sorry for the interruption, back to the petty complaining.

Oh and by the way, 2 nites at this place isn't required, is it?

I like the clean sleek look of the hotel at least. I wish the land went more in that route instead of highly weathered beige poor area.

Waaay better room. No stupid bumk beds eirher. Lots od space. A real restroom where your arms don't hit the wall as you use the toilet. They all should have been like this. The fact they have these and didn't make it the standard is embarrassing.
Woohoo! I figured out the quote function.

Very nice indeed and better looking than the base room. The restroom is large although I personally don't care for the aesthetic, but that's a minor, minor complaint for this room. For the base price this is the minimum accommodation I would accept to go at my imaginary price point.

I agree. As it stands right now, I think the experience looks cool for what it is (ignoring all the cruise elements obviously), but I would never do it at 5-6k. I'd start considering it if it ever hit 3.5k, though even then it's a hard sell.

On the contrary I am quite happy and vindicated at how crappy the videos make this look.
Now, I know you were going to cut me a break, but, I really am curious just why it makes you happy that this looks crappy? Hey, that rhymed.

I can see where folks would not like this theme. I can see why people would have zero interest in staying here.

I just can't figure out why someone would want it to fail.

Want to bleach my eyes after reading a bit of this article:

We also saw a couple get engaged in the atrium. This couple was in cosplay dress and stayed in character the whole time we saw them around the ship. He was dressed a bit like Han Solo and she was an unrecognizable alien character with horns and fangs. With them and some other passengers, we couldn’t tell if they were really guests or cast members. After the engagement, we saw them in the bar and congratulated them. The woman told me they weren’t sure if they would be allowed to marry. Staying in story, I asked if it was because they were different species. She said no, it’s because he’s her brother. It was then that I knew they probably weren’t cast members. She then added that he was adopted. OK … I guess you can come up with whatever crazy backstory you’d like for yourself while staying at this resort.

Still hung up over the lightsaber switch in the finale. Surely there was a better solution right in front of them? I see there are banners hung along the railings; it wouldn't be out of place for thick banners that you can't see through to be hung along them for Day 2 of the experience, have actors say it's to prep for the final day's celebrations, and then right before the show have the fight lightsaber ready to go behind said banner. Block the scene so Rey stops behind it, giving her time to switch without it being so obvious/having her crouch down and clearly pick up a new object.

On another note, it's wild the lightsaber has a button that can be triggered from the handle in fight mode, especially considering how it ruins the point of the switch when the lightsaber turns off and the light tube is revealed. Surely they could have had the lightsaber built so the button was perhaps at the bottom of the hilt or protected somehow so it wouldn't be easily accessed?
Yeah - I agree. It's nice that they have the telescoping saber but the switch is REALLY bad - something like a bulkhead on either side of the display screen blocking the audience view would go along way to cover that up (and be more theatrical). Or maybe have MORE blast effects at the same time to better indicate why she was dropping to the floor.

But ALL of that is just completely thrown out the window when she picks up and ignite the battle saber (with the clear, fixed tube) later in the fight.

Nice that the railings are all light saber protected though - wouldn't want anyone to fall to the floor after a lightsaber battle and hurt themselves!

I forget how cringy other people can be when you enable them.
I honestly would've left that part out of the article. That sounds like tricky personal info rather than made up backstory.

The only thing I noticed negative is shower curtain instead of a sliding door and no door to toilet. Those are both things they should have incorporated especially for the limited number of rooms of this size.
