I have probably 50 7+ day trips there…after working…and the wedding…and the spur of the moment timeshare buy…The problem with this, and perhaps it's a failure of marketing, is that the public itinerary shares so little of what the experience actually is. If you're playing sabacc or racing droids, you are missing the point, and misusing your time. Same goes with the ryloth dance video that everyone insists on posting as indicative of the experience. Those are filler activities, designed for people who do not want to engage in the story, or need a quick break.
I was expecting to learn sabacc, participate in the tournament, etc. But after playing a couple of quick hands in the lounge when I first boarded, I realized that there wasn't time enough for that sort of thing. And the activities that I was choosing to do instead were way more fun than pretending to be Lando at the card table.
I'm not going to argue over the price/value proposition. It was the best experience I've ever had in WDW (over 15+ trips), and I would recommend it to anyone. If the price scares you, I'd recommend going to do just this, instead of making your 10th 5-day visit to the parks.
It’s not the price. At least not in that context. It’s a value proposition for me. It’s gotta have it or I’m not gonna support it.
Unfortunately I’m one of those annoying people that actually gets the appeal of Star Wars…so that means I’m not a executive at the Walt Disney company…so it’s not for me as is.
But I’ll watch to see if they can sell this “experience” nonsense? More power to them…let’s see if they can keep the doors open?
