Yes Disney operatedDid Disney operate the NBA experience? Also Disney is the first to ever build anything like this so I’m sure they want to keep it going and do what they can for it to be a success

Where DHs logic is, the price it is, people will still have to choose between park visits and possibly missing the hotel activities and in essence giving up money paid. Even at 1500 less for 3 of us, it would be more what personally feel is reasonable. The problem is not in the product. I haven't been but I only heard great things.
The issue is that they are charging $6k for 2 days to enjoy it! (2 people will pay around $5k but it's still massive per capita for 2 days).
So even for those who can afford it and enjoy it so much as to be repeat guests, my opinion is that at some point it's just gonna be too hard to see the value.
As a side note, I do like STAR WARS / Sci-Fi in general and role-playing, and with some effort I can save money to do that without having to suffer on my essentials (would cut back / postpone other luxuries but I can stomach that). But with 2 little ones that are not old enough to enjoy and my DW not being a big fan, unfortunately it's a hard pass. I can save less than that and do something else that is longer and we can all enjoy (even a regular Disney trip).
Yes. And I brought up escape rooms because they are another example of innovation in immersive entertainment that suffers from lack of familiarity. Many who have experienced them in them understand and seem to enjoy. But lots of people are like, "I don't know what that is, but I don't want to pay money to be locked in a room!"They are a lot of fun, especially if you like puzzles / riddles and go with friends.
You do not understand the Galactic Starcruiser experience. This thing might be fun and maybe something I would do if they did not have iteneraries and try to push you through interacting with a story. Leave me alone and let me experience the place the way I'd like to experience it and I would go.
Don't guests know this going into it?Where DHs logic is, the price it is, people will still have to choose between park visits and possibly missing the hotel activities and in essence giving up money paid. Even at 1500 less for 3 of us, it would be more what personally feel is reasonable.
I understand it just fine. I understand it enough to know that it's not something I want to do in its current form. Thank you for making the assumption though. You do not understand the Galactic Starcruiser experience.
And I know exactly what an escape room is. Down to the tiniest detail. I still don't want to do that either. It doesn't have anything to do with me not understanding how it works. Not everybody on this planet is a moron.Yes. And I brought up escape rooms because they are another example of innovation in immersive entertainment that suffers from lack of familiarity. Those people also say things like, "What happens if you have to use the bathroom in the middle of the experience?" and probably (if this thread has taught us anything), "Why isn't there a pool?"
Yes a majority I assume know going in. It is a factor on us personally deciding the current price tag isn’t what we would feel comfortable paying.Don't guests know this going into it?
Iger is an NBA fan. I dont think Bob the Beard is.I am guessing Disney was just the landlord?
Sorry, maybe I should have written, "This post indicates to me that you may not understand some key things about the Galactic Starcruiser experience."I understand it just fine. I understand it enough to know that it's not something I want to do in its current form. Thank you for making the assumption though.
Without a story, it'd be like wandering around on a theater set with no actual production. This thing might be fun and maybe something I would do if they did not have iteneraries and try to push you through interacting with a story.
It mades it sound like you don't realize that guests are encouraged to experience it however they want to experience it. Some guests watch, some get into the puzzles, some role play.Leave me alone and let me experience the place the way I'd like to experience it and I would go.
That post wasn't about youAnd I know exactly what an escape room is. Down to the tiniest detail. I still don't want to do that either. It doesn't have anything to do with me not understanding how it works. Not everybody on this planet is a moron.
A lot of very good discussion going on, but the way current administration is operating don't be upset if this goes the way of the NBA experience.
I guess my point here is that it can almost be too crowded to have personal interactions sometimes. Our favorite times were lingering around after meals in the dining room or passing through the Atrium in slow periods (I had a great secret chat with Lenka and Raithe doing just that).
Does "available" refer to one room, or multiple rooms? That is a very good point! Your photos do show a crowd that seems to be 25% too crowded.
The tell is when they show marketing pics for anything, Disney always has the park or hotel lightly busy but nothing like the crowd levels of your photos. You need people to be there with you to give a space and experience life and energy, but your photos show things a tad too crowded for perfection.
That said, I just took this screen shot of the availability of Galactic Starcruiser heading into the holiday season. The parks are packed on both coasts right now, but you can still get reservations for this weekend?!? And with the exception of the two weeks around Christmas and Thanksgiving week (DEFCON 1 in the parks!), the place is wide open.
This can't have been what they were planning for during its first Christmas season...
Where's Ann Morrow???

Heck, they still have availability for tomorrow afternoon!
It depends. It’s sold on people capacity/rooms, which ever fills up first.Does "available" refer to one room, or multiple rooms?
Right. So you can see that "Look! The booking site shows availability!" could indicate anything from:It depends. It’s sold on people capacity/rooms, which ever fills up first.
