I’ve stayed fairly spoiler free, but it seems when you visit so areas, you manipulate things to get an item, or points towards the story.
If you haven't gone I'll simply say that 'scan points' and such are variable enough that it'd be fine if they changed the story. The ship has an engineering room and a brig and it'll always have those and I don't think that precludes anything.

Personally we used a couple 'scan points' other people knew nothing about, and I'm pretty sure there are ones I don't know anything about.

This. It would be fairly easy to change the story for these parts as you're not technically doing anything that's real in the way it effects anything. It's more about the fun and dialogue and could easily be sold as "Your changing the engine to do x,y and z" or "This will set the computer to do this or that" without giving too much away.

Some of them are even text/app based and they could change that with the push of a button.

The suggestions that redoing the Star Cruisers story line will revitalize the experience and bring back guests are good but realistically will not do it. NOW! redo the pricing (as in bring it down to a realistic, reasonable and honest level) and a cordon of security storm troopers will be needed to hold the throngs back.

I mean, the bridge, dining room , secret rooms foyer, etc would all BE THE SAME. But, hey, the words are different, , and instead of going to Batuu to get secret info on a resistance spy, you get secret info on a a resistance General who is of questionable integrity. It's TOTALLY DIFFERENT. That'll be 6 thousand dollars please

This might key you into the fact that those things aren't necessarily what makes the experience special. You've almost got it.

I really thought there would have been enough “one and done” folks to keep the calendar full longer than this.

So now they are at something like 25 percent capacity?

If they want to keep doing cruises, they need to change the plot at least once a year and publicize that heavily so folks will want to return for the next plot.

This is science fiction so anything goes; get pulled into a worm hole and you come out and you are in the original Star Wars with all the characters, use a worm hole to get back to present day.

They also need a loyalty program like cruise lines to keep folks coming back.

If I was in charge, this would be a themed dining experience only accessible via the shuttle from inside galaxy’s Edge, you can up charge for “missions” or light saber training while you are on the ship.

There are a lot of possibilities. That said, do not be surprised if they simply shut it down if it’s not making “enough” money. Disney is not afraid of shutting something down and moving on.

I think it's good practice for running these events outside Disney World--let's say it's 10 years from now and you don't want to go to Sunken Orlando, the Hurricane City but you do want to attend an immersive Disney pop up event in your area.

I wouldn't be surprised if the actual Starcruiser folds soon, though. Money is extremely tight right now and while people may still want that Disney trip in general, not being able to pay for groceries, the doctor, or car/house repairs because you put $6k on the cards for a 2-night trip? Just no!

Disney has tried pop up events before and they didn’t make “enough” money for Disney.

Don’t worry Orlando will not sink nor will the WDW resort. No matter what they tell you the center of the state rarely gets hit hard by hurricanes

Besides, all those EVs are going to save the planet, right?

Ok, a good concept. Do a little refurb and have a themed dining experience in the Galactic Cruiser (reasonably priced) and if the guests want to partake in any Galactic adventures / activities outside of the dining experience then let there be an upcharge. Of course, access to the Cruiser would be restricted to a shuttle service to / from Batuu.

I do think they would make MORE MONEY doing this.
This is something I would partake in while I would not spend the big bucks for the two day cruise.

If things got really bad, I could see Disney making this a "seasonal" offering, open on a sporadic schedule.

Then instead of announcing a closure, they would just stop posting dates available to book.

That's under the current hotel model. Far more likely it becomes another upcharge experience(s) like droids and lightsabers.
