Based on the permits and an educated guess, the below in red shows the resort, black is parking, and blue is a new pond...

It would make sense if the hotel facade or entrance was a spaceport of some kind that links earth to the Star Wars universe.... that way it wouldn't be a large warehouse they have to hide with a mountain.

nor even their SW section

I gave up following the blog so long ago (mainly when google reader stopped) and man... I kind of know why I don't try to read it anymore

Finding latest stories shouldn't be that hard (it IS listed if you do 'latest stories' in the menu)

The site is indeed aggravating to use to find out real information, and maybe you'll get one or two tidbits a week. And in between those two tidbits are mountains of glurge. My bookmark is set to "latest stories" to catch them all.

Thanks for the drawings. I'm going to guess that you have the building and parking reversed, with the resort directly adjacent to the park. No disrespect, just my guess (and partially based on rumors I have heard from bus drivers!).

They'll have to update their permits if that's what's going to happen since the area at the southern tip of the giant, new parking lot is permitted for parking and not building.

Also, from outside the hotel I assume the illusion breaking view of the Galaxy's Edge sheds will be very visible.

Unless, you know... trees, lots of trees.
Or vr “windows”. There have been some patents that some (Len Testa) have speculated might be for the monorail, but could work for the hotel too.

I don't know that it matters. For the purposes of water management the most important thing is whether it's a permeable surface or not, so a building would the same thing as a parking lot. With that said, I still thing you setup is most likely.

I'm assuming the Space Ship hotel will be a kind of "back drop" to Galaxy's Edge, the same way the Contemporary is the background to Tomorrowland

The tall rockwork and alleys of SWL would likely block the view of anything behind the land.
It'd have to be an extremely high hotel tower
