Reminds me of the Disney Moms panel where thousands of people compete to prove their fealty to The Mouse to likely make the equivalent of a dollar an hour.
The mommy bloggers thing was an hilarious concept as well.
As many of these "bloggers" didn't even had 1k of followers. Yet somehow... Disney invested heavily on them.

I saw this morning that Resort TV1 was invited to the press preview on Thursday and they will be allowed to talk about it Friday. I trust them to be pretty unbiased.
I do like their videos. But, I don't get much comment -- positive or negative -- in their videos. Did you hear anything about all the walls in their last EPCoT video? We saw them but I didn't really hear much. Did I miss it?

Yeah, they do tend to stay away from critiquing things, but since they are getting an advanced look at this I am hoping they will give some opinions.

Setting aside the “It’s a LARP” / “Disney never used the actual word 'LARP' in promoting this” debate…

The SWGS website specifically says:

Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is like nothing else you’ve ever experienced: part live immersive theater, part themed environment, part culinary extravaganza, part real-life role-playing game—and yet so much more.

Most of us would argue that there's no semantic difference between "live-action role-playing" and "real-life role-playing". I expect Disney will spend a lot of time and words, very, very soon, to say that the terms are completely and utterly distinct.

Edit: Formatted the website quote as a quote.

I've heard that Chapek is looking to open one of these in Nevada with an included casino and brothel. You think the vloggers are excited now, wait until they get comped for that one!

If there's anybody who goes and enjoys it that doesn't get accused of liking it because Disney pub'd them in some way, or covered some of the freight, or because they don't want to admit they wasted their money...I will be quite surprised.

People will likely file away any reviews in accordance with their pre-conceived notions.

No. If someone who paid for it genuinely likes it I am more than open to hearing about their experience and happy they felt they got their money's worth. I won't believe anyone who goes to this for free at all.

Not paid or a shortened version that some have done, I will ignore. I will likely ignore the one couple posted here (both had SW shirts on and male wore green glasses) because they strike me as the type who will love anything Disney. Reminds me of DVC owners who kept buying more points before even attempting to do adult things like save up for a down-payment for like a house. Disney or SW love can be blinding.

I don't listen to every review made for anything I buy or do. I listen to all and see if there are common themes. Then decide if I think it would be for me.

It's immersive, but it's not immersive. It's a live experience where you act out a play role you create, but it's not a LARP. We're going to great lengths to create an experience where everyone's fully committed to the conceit of going into space, but we'll also have randos wearing cargo shorts mixed in.

This inherent confusion and contradiction a week out is probably a reason so few are committing to this experience (and have dropped out after making reservations), and even Disney has substantially curtailed aggressively promoting this investment. But at least they have folks like you carrying water until then! We'll all know how this shakes out a little over a week from now!
Quote me telling anyone to book this? Quote me saying this is great or worth all that money, please feel free? Quote me promoting this as an experience to try out? I choose to wait and see what happens when it opens and I generally only reply to those who seem to have already decided to say it's terrible. I think it deserves a chance, some don't. Different opinions and all that.

How will you know that though? I can understand people who have freebies or highly discounted trips, but now you think that anyone who likes it could be lying so can't be trusted either? I guess that means any good review from anyone shouldn't be trusted then? And wouldn't somebody who felt they'd wasted their money and was embarrassed by doing so just remain quiet rather than write a good review? Imagine spending $6000 and thinking "That was terrible, what a waste I feel really embarrassed". In that scenario is the next thought process going to be "I know, I'll write a glowing review for strangers to read about how great it was"? :D

I'm looking for long form videos with minimal commentary that show the experiences as best they can so I can attempt to make up my own mind. One of the other thoughts I had is by inviting some press for a short period of time and not overnight, Disney may be testing how this would work for people who want to take an afternoon excursion "up" to the ship from Batuu.
