Some of the draw is Potter but you get two complete parks with very cool/convenient transport between them. Before the express it was only a 15 minute walk at most between them and they sold plenty of hoppers but with the option to switch on the train or walk out front it really is like two parks for less than two one day tickets and is a better value proposition to many more people. . I would never think of going without some type of hopper, after the first few times on the train it is just a way to get from one place to the other and isn't that interesting to hear/experience over and over. It serves more than one purpose and was as inspired as bringing butter beer to the streets. Cash grab with value
I hadn’t been in about 15 years until we went in 1/20 right before defcon 2 was declared…

so having kids that has never been…we initially didn’t get the hopper…but had 4 days. On day 3 I bumped it to go on the express…simply because I was so impressed with the two lands.

that’s the proper customer relationship…they delivered, I rewarded. It’s a teachable moment.

At least you know what to reasonably expect with the Super Bowl. My trip is 3/7 and I have received zero correspondence from Disney thus far aside from the informationally-lacking welcome video. And considering there hasn't been any news shared from people going 3/1, I expect nothing even once the 30-day mark hits.
And you’re gonna have a tough time getting that hook out of your mouth at this point 🎣

I gotta ask: what caused you to throw that kinda cash at something before you had a chance at feedback? Especially given Disney’s “minefield” approach to owning the Star Wars IP?

I paid with Disney Visa points, so aside from the flight and a few bookending hotels I'm not too financially invested. I wanted to experience this in its intended form before it's swiftly repurposed as a Best Western: Batuu.

That being said, will I at some point be hiding in the lounge fantasizing about the Bora Bora Bungalow trip that could have been? So far, all signs point to yes.

I am looking forward to reading your review of the experience. By all means do not skip on detail.

But is a LARP type experience, even a dramatically minimized LARP experience, a part of the average expectation for the 75,000 people who stream into Disneyland or WDW's Magic Kingdom every day? I don't think so. Walt had invited them to step into a living movie set and let the CM's operate the show for them. Walt did not expect his paying guests to become an actor in that living show and pretend to help their Jungle Cruise Skipper fight off the attacking Hippo with a second Colt pistol from the back of the boat.

no - dressing up is a self satisfying way for fans to share snd enhance their experience… especially when they expect to be around and interact with like minded fans.

it’s fans doing it for themselves

Morkey, from what I see, they want you to check your app to see the schedule. Unless you've been obsessively checking the app, though, you wouldn't have known. (Also this works PLEASE tell them you had to learn from "kingdead")

Ooook then what does the Star Cruiser Experience provide that a Fan LARPING experience weekend on Batuu couldn't? If its fans doing it for themselves and other fans don't need the Star Cruiser, Batuu will do just fine.

That shouldn’t be acceptable for this kinda price.

I get their push to be 101% app dependent…but this isn’t like buying crap off Amazon. Pay someone to pick up a phone…or since it’s Star Wars…video chat. Act like you’ve been here before.

Which is exactly what we saw with the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Hogsmead and Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey have a whole convoluted backstory about being open to muggles that visitors just completely ignored. People bought robes and wands and declared themselves wizards.

Yeah, I've seen all that. The schedule is color coded, with yellows denoting "must-dos," but I'm wondering if I can skip out on other funtivities. Like - rather than "Ryloth Dance Lessons," I could instead be at the bar. Or, if during "Know Your Co-Pilot," I realize I'm actually thirsty and would rather be at, I don't know, the bar, that's a possibility.

Know your co pilot is a game/contest that I'm sure you don't have to do. Whether there is space at the bar I couldn't say. I think most of the other stuff is optional and you could watch tv if you felt like it

It works there…because the quality of the build and design makes it all. Secondary.

My guess is the bar is Smaller than Oga’s at best. I also guess there will be MANY people wanting to hang out there instead of lots of things on the intenerary, especially at night.
