Lipstick on a pig at this point. Disney's internal tests did not go well for the hotel... they know they have a problem, and they'll be looking for a fix within a year.
I dont think Joe Rhode could fix this. I have 2 friends and there wives who canceled because it did not look anything like Star Wars to them. My wife and I were on the fence waiting to see but after the videos that have come out we are glad we did not get to worked up over it.

I have friends who are now waiting to book - after looking at dates next year (big group so they need to coordinate). After the promo info, they think they likely won't be booking at all. These are people with money to toss out too and not really bat an eye too much at the cost. If it improves, they'll consider later. I personally would need less structure and more ability for fresh air to go myself.

Almost all the negativity is from people who *didn't* put a down payment on a cruise nor paid in full.
We have to wait until those people who put the 6k and committed to it will say.

Unless we end with an Emperor's new clothes thing.
Where they were so.. so embarrassed of these 6k wasted...
That they will go full penguin.. "Smile and wave guys, smile.. and wave... "

What are they considering would be "a fix"?

Is that a rethink of performance programming and amenities? A change in price point?

Or are we talking more drastic measures like redesigning guest-facing areas, or reconcieving the hotel as less of a Boutique Experience?

Having read WDW Pro's article, it's simply having Darth Vader walk down the halls (which actually sounds like a decent idea, doing your own little Rogue One. Only with slightly fewer fatalities.)

I don't know. Maybe it was more of the same promotional video and they pulled it so as not to give any more red meat to the toxic fanbase.
This sounds very defensive. That same “toxic” fan base raved about the RotR experience despite it breaking down daily and swings positive on GE as a whole while acknowledging there’s a lot more that could have and should have been done.

So, they had some tests and just gave up? They're not working right now to fix it? Is that how internal testing works? If it turns out not to go well, you just say "Oh, well, there's nothing we can do for the next three months!!"

Don't worry, once they fire Kathleen Kennedy, they'll make it all right!

There was a time "they" were among the best at marketing. Current results reflect a steep deterioration of capability and talent.
Yea Disney has many times designed a lot of episodes of major shows around marketing the resorts. They only advertise their own stuff on Disney channel too and bought out multiple streamers to make content for them. I would also say they have been very progressive about giving social media people free stuff and access to events. These people have been racking up millions of views and driving attendance as a status symbol. For every Tim Tracker there is someone from Brazil, Colombia, china, etc racking up views.
