At this price, I wouldn’t be sleeping. I’d sit up all night in a public area staring directly at a CM. And they darn well better be entertaining.
Serve midnight snacks?

Now both March 5&6 and march 11&12 voyages are unmarked as full days.

I don't know why March 4 isn't marked off but March 5 is. I am assuming it's a computer glitch, but it's been like this for a few days and Disney hasn't bothered to fix it.

If you pay that kind of money, you probably won't be able to sleep. They should have night activities planned all the way to 3 a.m. or something, like night clubs.

I love reading your many posts (and actually agree with 70% of them, pretty good I think).

Even the 30% I don't agree with, I still appreciate...

You can be a very funny guy (most times) :)
…soon I’ll be entering my “blue” period…

greek tragedies. My first idea is to let JJ Abrams and Kiri Hart near a Star Wars project and give them a budget 😱

These Disney nuts are Club 33, Golden Oaks, and people with lots of DVC points to spend at a disadvantageous exchange.

Disney DVC website says,

"Because this is a Disney Collection Exchange opportunity, at least one person must be booked on points. Other Guests can make cash payments."
"Departures From 295 Reservations Points Per Departure, Per Person"

I'm not DVC, so I didn't know what it meant. But then, I heard some vlogger say that you can get Aulani (a deluxe Disney hotel in Hawaii) for 9 points a night during slow times. Wow! That makes SWGE 30 times more than a deluxe hotel rate! Why is Disney requiring this from DVC members? What's wrong with their cash? This is like being punched in the face.

The opportunity is a concierge collection trade, which requires a $95 fee and terrible exchange rate to use. However, you can book only the 3rd or 4th person on points, which isn't that bad. 70-90 points total, so you only burn that many points at valuation near $6 per point.
Still a lot less flexible though because once they are in the collection they are more or less gone, including that fee which brings the exchange rate down to more like $5pp.

This is not unlike the early cruise on the Wish that required booking on points. If you want to pay the ransom, then you have the opportunity to go early, and they get to wipe a big chunk of backlogged points out.

Using DVC points to book regular hotels and cruises are always a bad deal. You'll come out way ahead renting your
Points and booking with cash.

I quoted a poster which gives you an idea how bad the exchange is.

That's *per person.*

For those of you unfamiliar with DVC points charts... a solo traveler on a Galactic Starcruiser itinerary is going to pay the equivalent of:

10 nights in a 2 bedroom ocean view villa at Aulani in November.

36 nights an a savannah view studio at Animal Kingdom Lodge in summer.

THE ENTIRE MONTHS OF SEPTEMBER AND JANUARY COMBINED in an Old Key West Studio.

Use of DVC points would only make sense if you actually went into space

Except that in order to wipe a big chunk of points out they have to make rooms available for trade. So in the long run it doesn’t help…. Unless they can somehow release rooms with a much lower points value. which is what I don’t understand.

The tricky thing here is that there is no situation that gets us back 3+ month worth of points where we take those points out of the system every time a trade is made, though I do understand how these have been handled in the past.

I'm trying to figure out how this works exactly, but they seem to be valuing these points at about 25% of what they would charge someone in the 7 month window as OTUP. So if we assume they trade these in, rather than just rake in the money like they would have before, they have an opportunity to clear 15 points from the system for every 20 they trade in for Starcruiser (or DCL) and still break even.
Perhaps some of the Moonlight Magic or AP discount budget is going towards these initiatives also. I can't pinpoint what is happening, but unless they just want to wait 5 years until lock-off premiums balance the point budget, they are going to be selling direct contracts with no ticket discounts and a 50% borrowing restriction.
