I just called Disney, and the wait time is 144 minutes. Last week each day that I called, the wait time was over 2 hours, and I thought it was because too many people booking SWGS and clogging up the line. But today and yesterday are not open for booking SWGS, and the lines are still long. So I guess that's just the new normal for Disney right now.

Also, I just checked, and the weekend voyage of March 5 & 6 is no longer marked as full. People must have cancelled.

Are they even serving lunch on the Starcruiser? I thought the sample itinerary suggests some kind of activity or story telling on Batuu. I would hope in some way RotR will be linked to your story line. Sample itineary suggests boarding the transport back to the ship after lunch. I'll agree with your point with respect to guests who want to take the last shuttle back to the ship so they can visit ToyStoryLand/

I figure lunch must be served because they are serving 2 lunches, according to the website. The only opportunity of eating 2 lunches is on the first day (check in day) and the second day (Batuu day). On the third day, you are kicked out after breakfast. Here's what Disney says:

"Package includes two (2) breakfast, two (2) lunch and two (2) dinner meals per Guest, with gratuity included for dinner meals; and one (1) quick-service meal includes: one entrée and either one (1) nonalcoholic beverage or, if age 21 or over, one (1) alcoholic beverage (where available) or for Guests ages 3 to 9 one (1) combo meal from the children’s menu offerings, to be used in the theme park only." (from the fine print towards the bottom of the following webpage)

I was told they would be extending the window for AP and DVC 2 more days, which would have it booking through today. Nothing changed as far as I know on the website, and I have no reason to call and wait on hold to find out if this is true. Tomorrow is when it is supposed to start for Disney Visa.

Do we know if all cabins were made available to guests prebooking? Concerts generally have a limited number of seats available to customers eligible for pre-sale.

The various threads and Disney fan sites already have posters who have changed dates or even cancelled. I suspect you'll be seeing a number of guests cancelling before final payment.
I don't know if all cabins are made available; I'm only going by Disney's announcements. It is possible that Disney is marking a date full while reserving a few rooms for other purposes. So the "full" just means Disney is pronouncing the voyage date full.

Some may choose not to go to Batuu and they will eat lunch on the Starcruiser. Can't say what the idea is on day one, but you're correct that it says 2 lunches. Maybe you get another voucher for the return day? This is a bit confusing.

If they did, it didn't increase the number of marked full dates on the website. There were no new full dates yesterday, and today they even lost March 5 &6. Which is disappointing to me because I am getting a kick out of watching the rooms fill up.:)

Yeah I can't say. This was from one of the gatekeepers on day one when the system went down for hours. I believe someone I was talking to on another forum booked yesterday but I didn't ask a lot of questions.

Now that it's just regular rooms and the "special" dates are gone in this early window, it'll probably be until general booking that much more sells out. I'm curious what the weekday occupancy on this looks like for mid-May compared to the summer when kids are out of school.

Yeah, day 1's lunch is called, "LIGHT REFRESHMENTS 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM" on the sample itinerary, which doesn't sound like much of a lunch. However, the website also says, "The starcruiser’s famous Crown of Corellia Dining Room is a bright and welcoming hall that offers breakfast and lunch daily". To me, that means you get 2 lunchs plus the quick service at Batuu, so 3 lunches total. It's possible that the first lunch is merely a quick "light refreshment", like the stuff you get at a club level lunch. It does say that you are not allowed in the hotel before 1 p.m., so there's really no time to eat a big lunch on arrival day.

Personally, I find that disappointing. When I went on the Disney Dream, the first thing I did when I arrived at noon was to go and eat the buffet lunch, and it was a fantastic lunch too, one of the best I've ever had, and made a very good first impression of the cruise. Apparently, SWGS expects you to feed yourself first before you show up:

I find that disappointing. I think they should feed people a late lunch first, then do ship orientation. And the schedule on day 2 doesn't mention lunch at hotel at all, only the quick service thing at Batuu. Basically, the sample schedule doesn't mention eating lunch at the hotel any time, just "light refreshments" on day 1 and a Batuu quick service on day 2. I'm hoping that there will be a lunch at the hotel on day 2 so that they don't make people go to Batuu to eat quick srevice because that's the only lunch available.

It’s funny how guests must get to the “terminal” before 4 like there is some sort of launch or something. I understand about an actual cruise ship, but this is A BUILDING. It’s not going anywhere.

I guess they just want to keep on schedule like the princesses meals in the castle.

…I’m checked out of this…but curiosity has me wondering one thing: are they doing “exclusive” booking for Disney nuts and this isn’t selling out?

…might be a touch of a problem
It's hard to say. Maybe people are just booking each date evenly for the 2 month booking period so that they are all 99% full today, and tomorrow, a few more bookings will make the rest of March suddenly full, but there's no way for me to tell. I'm hoping that people are booking the earliest date they can so that the rooms are filled sequentially, excepting weekends, and give me a gradual and somewhat accurate estimation of the daily fill rate. Most people who are planning to go say that they want to do it at the earliest opportunity. I hope that's what's happening. There are 220,000 DVC members, (not counting APs who aren't DVC), and the first 2 months has about 3000 voyages, so if the richest 1% of the DVC members decide to book, it should finish filling up March and April, which are already somewhat filled by Golden Oak and Club 33 members.

The Disney phone line has been having long waits, so that might be holding things up. Disney Visa cardholders are next, October 12 to 16. After that, all March and April should be gone. From Oct 7 to Oct 16, that's 10 days of bookings open. 10 days to do 3000 bookings, or 300 reservations a day, is nothing for Disney. Pop Century alone had 652 bookings in the last 24 hours. Granted, most of that were likely done online, but Disney should be able to handle this.

This is a very interesting and exciting experiment: how many people are willing to pay $3K+ per night for a Star Wars hotel stay? I am excited to see the results.

I would imagine it’s because the whole experience starts soon after that.
- an introduction briefing to the “ship” and crew
- sign up for stuff like light sabre training (they’ll need to be able to create schedules for guests based on the options they choose)
- an opening event to kick off the story arc

If you arrive late you’ll miss out. Why wouldn’t you want to maximise your time “on board” in any case?

These Disney nuts are Club 33, Golden Oaks, and people with lots of DVC points to spend at a disadvantageous exchange.

They might possibly be grabbing all the large suites for weeks and weeks to come, but it won't show as sold out because steerage rooms are still available.
