None. It will not be within the land. There isn't room.

Well... if the Swolphin tower can fit on the area of four tennis courts, then theoretically, the new SWResort, which is also a boutique hotel (small capacity) could be squeezed in what is now backstage (especially if planned backstage is moved). But that's unlikely and way too tight from what I can surmise.

The other option is to build it adjoining DHS property and have a walkway over the service road, or, reroute the service road. In this scenario, what one considers the park boundaries expands to encompass the SWResort. This, I believe, would be likely. Being immediately adjacent to the park and saying it's "within" the park would also garner higher prices... so....

But then there's the scenario that SWResort is a good walk or short shuttle from the park, which, at that point, it would be considered 'outside the park.' Which is also a good possibility.

You're forgetting that you also need service roads, a parking lot, service buildings, etc. More than just the actual hotel building/buildings. There is no way to put all of that backstage within the land without moving World Drive and/or South Studios Drive. More to the point, we've seen the wetlands permits and its not going there.

I have no doubt it will be right nearby, but it will not be within the park.

I think you're misunderstanding. I think that there are plenty of you-type people who are more than ready and willing to book this. I just think that the me-type people are going to be faster on the draw and we'll fill it up before the you-type people remember to check availability between soccer practice and Cub Scouts. ;-)

I know my DW and her BFF will book the second booking opens. No matter What the cost is... ill be sayibg have a nice time.

If done correctly (as many are postulating) this will be a Westworld type of experience. No tie-ins to Disney or the regular theme park experience. You get to the resort and you are no longer in the real world or even the Disney bubble. Again, if this is done to full immersion, nothing should be in the resort that is not themed(food, drink ,merch, accommodations). Again if like Westworld you are stepping into a story and to get the most of the experience you need to play along. You of course should have the opportunity to do whatever you like at your own pace but then again you will be missing out on a very expensive experience.

You want to hang out and drink, that's fine but if you interact with the CMs maybe they will propel you into an assignment or a mission. You want to sit at the pool(never really got the enjoyment from an indoor pool filled with chlorinated eye burning air)then you will miss the 10 o'clock rebel meeting etc.

This will be huge with the hardcore base. If I did the math correctly as proposed, $650 pp, double occupancy that $1300 plus 2 kids that $1700 for 2 nights/3 days that $3400. I think that would be the base. At 200 rooms and maybe only 3 "tours" per week that may be only 30K rooms per year. With the rabid fanbase they could be booked solid for a decade. I do see a mix of SW nerd and upper class Disney families comingling and I'm not sure how that would be reconciled. This needs to marketed separate and very differently from a Disney vacation.

CNN is reporting that the Star Wars Hotel will be within the Star Wars Galaxy's Edge land inside DHS.

Any credibility to this?

The actual quote is:

"Due to open as part of the hotly anticipated "Star Wars" land being added to Disney World in Orlando, the hotel will allow guests to go on their own adventures on a self-contained spaceship."

The main stream media is not as detail obsessed with these things as we are. The fact that both talked about in the presentation is enough for them to make a connection between the two. I don't think they know or even care which piece of land it will actually be built on.

I dunno. I guess some (or many) would pay through the nose for this. I think I would rather have full immersion in the parks and light immersion at resorts (due to current resort theming by definition).

When i get back to the resort after a full day in the parks I just want to unwind, maybe use the pool, then go to sleep.
