They may be. (And yes, I immediately thought DreamPark when this came out.. though I used both that and westworld as references.. simply because more people know about Westworld at the moment).

Never forget.. Disney imagineers are just as nerdy as we are.. and quite a few are probably massive SW geeks. If there's anything they (and the resources they have with Lucasfilm) can bring to life.. it's this.

The question remains WILL Disney 'do the needful' as some of my colleagues say or just mail it in as the've done for years

I'm wondering how this will appeal to both kids and adult fans of SW (sans kids) I can't find the post now but someone mentioned how it will not be good if its overrun with kids like Great Wolf Lodge (which I agree with!) But if a lot of kids go, how will they control that so it doesn't feel overrun or too kiddie so adult fans can enjoy it equally

Possibly the same way cruises handle it now.

By offering alcohol?
Seriously, though- there's nothing in the Star Wars movies that's much beyond a nine-year-old's level of comprehension. Everyone signing up for this should know better than to expect something aimed especially at adults. If being based on Star Wars isn't their first clue, the fact that the hotel will be located in Disney World will fill them in.

Which would be the same strategy as Great Wolf ;)

Wouldn't hold out much hope.
Cocktails at Disney are always anemic.

dunno bruh.. picked up a black seal rum and coke from the cart near Indy at DHS in Feb.. thing was 90 percent rum. Guy earned one hell of a tip as I watched him pour it.

Depends where you go. I went to Nomad Lounge in AK for lunch and was tuned up after one drink. Then later went to Jock Lindsey's and am still not sure if they put any alcohol in those cocktails.

plenty of families on the same level as my family..and just as dedicated to get that reservation for their children.
And I hope there is an age minimum. Sorry-don't want a crying baby/or temper tantrum throwing toddler everywhere just because the family has money to burn. Not every thing has to be accessible to everyone ALL the time. Minimum 9 or 10 year old-can see this age loving it.

For those prices, I'm sure you'll be able to access food 24/7. And I also suspect there will be multiple "paths" you can take.. from disinterested observer, to participant.
Like the "choose your own ending" books. More interactive-more paths you get to choose. Wonder if you would have to sign a "non disclosure" to prevent someone walking around with go pro camera all the time (gawd I hope so!!!!!)? Or that by signing on for this experience you are required to least do a minimum interaction to keep out the rich "I'm just along because I want to see what this is but I don't care to do anything at all to make the experience better for everyone" lookers?-again-I hope so.

I'm quite interested in both, and I'm not alone. I'm sure Disney is aware of that and would very happily take our money

I think you underestimate the number of trufans around the world who will be lining up for years to get into this unique experience.

I don't think they'll have the space to "turn away" money. It's gonna be packed. And for a long time.

Serious question: Will the majority of superfans be able to afford this If this costs between $5000-$10000 for a 2-3 day experience? Not being presumptuous but I really don't know that demographic.
yes

I don't see it that way. I don't know a single person, aside from people posting here, who thinks this is a good idea. Normal Star Wars fans, like myself, have no desire to play dress up for 2/3/4 days. It sounds torturous.

No clue where you are getting that comically low 2-3k number from either.

Look, maybe I'm wrong. Disney obviously thinks they have a winning idea here. In the short term, they probably do. Medium to long term, I just don't see it.
This is not for the casual SW fan. That is what SW:GE is for. Would we be having this discussion if it was built anywhere other than Disney?
Google top 20 biggest geek/comicon conventions. PLENTY of diehard cosplay/geeks around the world to keep this going for a long time.
Heard of the 501st Legion? or Rebel Legion?
If you have never been to a convention, then you really can't comprehend the world and the commitment people will make to do an immersive experience.

Serious question for all of the serious Star Wars Nerds in this thread--

Are all of your spouses just as obsessed as you are?
My husband saved his childhood MF and SW toys. Gave it to our son (oldest was more princess oriented and middle girl is ok with sW but way more into Harry Potter) a few years ago. So yes. My middle kid (14.5 year old girl) cosplayed at her first comicon this past spring. Got stopped quite a bit by fans asking for pics. She also writes science fiction-although her newest novel is historical fiction. She wants to see Dunkirk...

People who keep thinking that way are exactly why we can't have nice things... and why great story telling like the living seas were destroyed.
AMEN! Haven't set foot in "nemo" living seas. The need to be instantly recognizable and lazy vs actual thinking/immersion experience means something was lost. But hey-more easily hashtagged/instagrammed right ?

Or a HoloDeck stuck on StarWars. <For the Star Trek geek> :D
I wanted to LIVE on the Enterprise in TNG-I anticipate the new resort/360 experience is just like that-the residents of the ship had families, all adults had jobs, there was the bar (Ten-Forward)...there were story lines that didn't involve leaving the ship but had a problem to be solved...food available at all times, exercise classes...
