Isn't there already a shuttle you take from your car to the ship and then back again? So you use it an extra time. Maybe the kids really love that transport and you ride between the ship and spaceport a dozen times.

Or, maybe they love the transport from the ship to Batuu and back and you just ride that back and forth without getting off.

People are overthinking this. CM's aren't going to go out of their way to keep up the immersion if the guest wants to break it. If guest needs to go to their car, a CM will likely just open a door a let them out.

In the blueprint/building map that I can't find the post for now. There's already an exit path from the ship to the spaceport and out the front door. Probably to a valet that get's your car.

That's my point. You don't even need to ask a cast member. Just walk down the correct hall/elevator. Unless it's turned off for some reason, but I doubt it would be.

It's not overthinking, it's people intentionally seeking out ever more ridiculous and miniscule avenues prove it's a failed idea that Disney has executed terribly before anyone has even set foot in it.

I'm enjoying the corner cases people are inventing to try to drive others to the conclusion they want to hear - that Disney will some impede you from doing $something that might impair the immersion.

"But what if I forgot to feed my dog!?!?!?!"

I wonder if they will be sturdy enough to be a consumer product at any volume. I mean it's not their fault if they're not. That they (seem) to work at all is cool, and they're probably designed for in-park (or starcruiser) cast member roleplay primarily.
No, actually they will be selling those but only to Galactic Star Cruiser guests.
Someone linked to the patent when they released this video, ingenious the way it works, basically like two measuring tapes that lock together as they unfurl.
I don't think they are strong enough to do battle against each other, but strong enough to hit faux laser blast during training exercises and such.

"Opening spring 2022 at Walt Disney World Resort, Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will be a two-night, immersive adventure in a galaxy far, far away that goes beyond anything Disney has created before.

But what does that mean, exactly?

To answer that question – and many more – we gathered some of the Disney Imagineers developing this groundbreaking project and let the cameras roll as they talked about Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser. In this wide-ranging discussion, you’ll learn more about how you can be the hero of your own Star Wars story, about your planet-side excursion to Batuu and how this new experience complements and enhances a visit to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and so much more. "

all the interactive stuff will be cut right before it opens and no one will ever talk about it again

Bingo.
What the heck does someone forget in their car when on vacation anyway?
All your stuff is in your bags.
People are really reaching.
Might as well say I forgot my stuff back in NJ when I check into any Disney hotel.
