So, I'm interested in where you are going to land at Batuu. Knowing nothing about the backstage areas beyond what can be seen in photos there seem to be a few possible areas. The "falcon gate" (large blast door area to the right of the Falcon) is currently a COVID overflow area (it's bordered by greenery in the above pictues) wouldn't seem to be an option. There's the area that I believe is currently a 'no mask' or otherwise 'eating' area between RotR and the bazaar. There's also the big doors to the right of the Imperial ship but that seems nowhere near where a 'shuttle' from the starcruiser could even reach. There's a blank area (usually occupied by a soda vendor) between the Imperial Outpost shop and the Cantina...maybe that?

But if people were going to DHS, they wouldn't be allowed to stay in costume, would they?

Unless the Galaxy's Edge part is before or after park hours.

I would expect they would just enforce costume standards like they do in the parks... for the same reasons. No confusing staff... and then makes going to Batuu a non-issue as well.

Notice I didn't say "able"... I said "willing."

And spending any time at all outdoors wearing a Porkins flight suit ensemble on your "shore day" in August will definitely wring a few pounds of water weight out of you regardless of the indoor time you spend in attractions, dining and shopping. Ask @Movielover -- he looks pretty damp in that photo!

Can't tell if you are sneakily calling me fat by mentioning Porkins...

If so it's warranted, I am a chunky fella! ;)

Funny enough I also have a screen accurate Original Trilogy X-Wing outfit and that jumpsuit is so much thinner and lighter than the Resistance one. The Resistance suit is a very warm material haha!

*This was taken at a Christmas parade, hence the antlers lol

Are costumes required for guests on the Starcruiser?
Certainly they'll be boarding in civilian clothes, but are they required to wear space jumpsuits or whatever during their stay?
I wouldn't believe so.

Star Wars Space Jumpsuits? Why not! Easy on Easy off, easy to identify the guests besides its supposed to be an immersive experience.

No, I wasn't going by weight -- I was going by the suit and your moustache/goatee...

They will be an option, but I doubt they would be required. Immersion needs to be balanced with practicality. I love going to renaissance fairs, but I want be able to use my credit card to buy things and have modern restrooms.

Wasn’t the plan initially

Don't know if we ever knew definitively if the park time would be after hours or not. One of the problems I see with after hours is that the shuttle we have seen looks pretty small, so how long would it take to transport everyone there? During the data a few small groups throughout the day wouldn't be a problem, but if it's a 2 hour after hours even, you can't spend an hour getting everyone there.

I really want to know the plan for the Batuu visit. Will guests experience SW:GE as part of a role-play experience? Would that require different "stories" on the rides? For example, would Hondo have a different spiel on MF:SR?? Will guests be allowed to explore the land freely, or be guided along some story line? How would the story of the rebellion and ROTR be incorporated into a story/experience for guests? I'm not a big Star Wars fan, nor into role-playing, but this experience sounds like it "COULD" be a very cool and fun once-in-a-lifetime experience, if done properly.

If this is supposed to be a costumed shindig are the guests expected to arrive appropriately dressed for the experience or is there a costuming station prior to boarding transport to the Star Cruiser? Details, Details and more Details.

I would assume Disney would make costumes available for an additional fee.

The official info from Disney said that costumes will be provided. No extra fee.

Required? No. Encouraged? Definitely.
