Yeah, I would imagine swimming in alcohol would be kinda unpleasant. You would actually be surprised, more pools then you think have the rule no alcohol allowed in them.

I'm most curious to see how they are going to pull off that shuttle trip, and mask the feeling that riders are on a bus.
Engine sounds, the feel of braking and turning...
The challenges come from the starting, stopping, braking and turning that needs to occur in the short distance we see.Put on a blindfold and you'd be amazed at how little it takes to disassociate reality from what you believe is happening.
When they take away the ability to see reality going on outside the bus, every sound and movement can easily be transformed into some other reality they create.

Could always try for a completely custom truck base that has a star tours style base on it, but then again it is modern day WDW we're talking about.Add rumblers and other sound effects and you mask what you think are familiar movements into unfamiliar movements or into something else. Control which direction people are facing and force sitting and you get even more control. Simple accelerometers can trigger show effects as needed to adapt the program to runtime conditions.
To me this is only a question of how far Disney wants to take it - not a question of 'can it be done' or 'can it be convincing'. Your brain is easily deceived.

Why didn't they just create a closed loop roadway for the shuttles to travel with no stops or turns etc...My didn't they do a small shuttle train that would also have no stops, just a direct shot, always the same to the park.. Stuff like that should have been planned in from the beginning VS a bus no matter how special the dressing is.

If it’s on a track, they could have had an at grade crossing like a RR, with gates that would come down when the bus, I mean train approached.I am sure it came down to money. To get from the hotel to the land you would have to cross over two roads and the canal, so would have required something elevated to avoid any stops.
I hope its a bit of both. I have my Rebel Legion approved Resistance X-Wing flight suit just itching for a fun time!If this is supposed to be a costumed shindig are the guests expected to arrive appropriately dressed for the experience or is there a costuming station prior to boarding transport to the Star Cruiser? Details, Details and more Details.
I imagine you'll stay in costume and in character the whole time you're a guest aboard the Halcyon. Obviously, your level of costuming will depend on how much extra you're willing to part with for story-appropriate outer garments and accessories. And you'll have to take into account weather factors, of course...If this is supposed to be a costumed shindig are the guests expected to arrive appropriately dressed for the experience or is there a costuming station prior to boarding transport to the Star Cruiser? Cost? Well, if the price of going on the experience can be afforded the price for costuming should not be an issue. I would imagine costuming be part of the experience. As for weather, good point, the vast majority of the experience will occur in an enclosed environment with a controlled atmosphere.I imagine you'll stay in costume and in character the whole time you're a guest aboard the Halcyon. That is an interesting point. Some of the SW geeks have extensive costumes and would want to show them off here. The standard garb from Disney may get looked at as the also ran of costumes.I would assume Disney would make costumes available for an additional fee.
