But that is how Disney have been referring to it. The Galactic Starcruiser.

This is the quote in the latest news feature about it, as posted by Steve:

“You’re going to live onboard a star cruiser…and you can get wrapped up in the larger Star Wars story.”

Yes, but that doesn't have to mean that their is a single chronological story running.

I think they have sized it right. We believe it will be around a 100 rooms and if we assume an average of 3 people per room for 2 days, that's a capacity 54,750 people per year. That's a good fraction of the 52 million that visit WDW yearly.
In the short term - perhaps...

Price and demand on a longer term is hard to judge

...

They would have to build spaces that would be able to expand or contract...streamline and/or repurpose in the original design without major construction. The worst case scenarios are either a. Demand is high and what they build is inadequate
B. Demand is low and they have to mothball parts of it.
....

Looking at the building, I'm assuming that long stretch in the back is guest rooms and the larger square space will the the "show building" and that a lot of what happens in that front building is where the guest spend is going.

I think if demand far outstrips capacity, we'll see the price rocket upward pretty quickly and maybe start seeing similar concepts fast-tracked for other properties they think they can get away with this kind of thing for.

If price is low, I expect to see them either start to do bundles (with Star Wars cruse events and other stuff) or start offering heavy discounts through back channels without actually reducing the rack rate.

If this thing is a total bust, Disney has either just built a show building for the next Star Wars Land expansion in Florida or they have some prime office space close to one of the theme parks and a bunch of new assets to use in whatever expansion they eventually do in Florida/California for SWL, in general. 🤷‍♂️

I'm sure this will run heavy for at least the first half-decade, though and after that, they may consider it a success, regardless.

IDC if that is correct or not for current industry standard, but it was correct for my experience when I went on a cruise. I shared a personal experience where you were not, in fact, there.

I paid for two people in my cabin, although I was the only one in it. It was a last minute trip or I would have found someone else to come since I had to pay for it anyway. Just wanted to be surrounded by ocean after 15 months in the sandbox. I absolutely did not get to pay a slightly higher per person single occupancy rate.

There isn’t an industry standard anymore. It varies by cruise line and by departure. You can find some really good last minute solo deals sometimes.

With Disney Cruise line specifically you will pretty much alway pay double. There policy several years ago was that solos paid 1.5x not 2x.

Except when the space pods break and you enter the hotel via a cm hallway.

And If they can’t even keep the access doors to backstage closed in front of the millennium falcon, I can’t imagine how bad the sight lines will be while waiting for this “exclusive” transport.

I hope this doesn't end up in a similar situation the Nick Hotel experienced.

The nick hotel looked great on the outside and had such great potential. But failed miserably. There is a not to mention video about the hotel on YouTube. Star wars won't fail, I am pretty sure they have calculated how much occupancy they need within the first few years and have guarantees. But we can safely assume all is not well when they go to seasonal. I suspect that will happen in 5 years. The price is already expensive eventually they will price out upper middle class people. Yet I'm not sure who the target audience here is?

I never thought I’d see a Star Wars movie flop, others drop in sales dramatically, and retail soften up rather prominently either...just saying

If it’s the same as the cruise is for an entire week but only 2 nights, that will be a very difficult sell for my wife...
Hopefully it’s priced more like a cruise per night...
I wonder if food is included?
For me the biggest challenge is to find couples who are BOTH big enough uber Star Wars fans to be able to want to do it. It’s way “too much” for me and there is NO WAY my wife would do it and she would mock me endlessly for even suggesting it.

Exactly. Assuming it’s somewhat reasonably priced, she’d prob agree, but if it’s just stupid insanely expensive, nope.

I thought it was all inclusive. But knowing Disney I feel like it's not. They may have a add on meal plan. But aren't the restaurants star wars and they are making a sit down resturant?

I think it's worth to try once. And that is where they will survive in the first 5 years. But being with the same people for 2 days is a horrible thought. But I don't do well on cruises. I have seen enough oddity at star wars land among adults I couldn't imagine 2 endless days.

So who is the target audience? Is it the typical Disney family is saves for a Disney holiday for years or ones that make the yearly trip? Is it a side trip like a cruise? Is it for star war fans who will only go for the experience?
