So all these years that my family has been going we've been experiencing "wdw stagnation" crowds?? And you're including through 2025 with all the current investment? You're a trip!

Crowds in Florida are not reflective of a successful strategic plan...and the “investments” for the last 10 years absolutely were for the reason I stated. And to reduce crowds...don’t forget. Dow 30 companies always spend more looking for FEWER customers 🙄

I think you mean fewer customers. And I know better than to go down this rabbit hole with you. ;)

Guilty...

As is assuming that there’s millions upon millions world wide families of 4 that pull down $250,000 to $500,000 annually and want to repeatedly, lavishly spend on Star Wars and Disney.

That has been the assumption that isn’t called out.

Why does it need to be a family of 4?
Why do they need to make that amount of money?
Sure, its going to be based on double occupancy, plus extra for the kiddos. But theres no reason a person can't book a room by themselves or without kids. You're the only one making assumptions. Are you going to tell me things like Escape Rooms aren't popular? Or The Void (even though I personally don't think its very good)? Renn Faires are still a thing and going strong. Just because you won't enjoy it or experience it doesn't mean that no one will. If you don't think Disney can scrape together 20k rooms booked per year you are absolutely out of your mind.

...nor was I indicating any of that. There’s limits to my stereotyping.

It’s not “me”. Everything Disney builds for a mass audience and that’s my perspective.

Don’t know how this hotel is gonna go. We’ll see.

20,000 rooms for a year? Sure. How about 200,000 for a decade?
And are we talking about rooms or occupants? Two different things.

This is all the same people that cry “omg I wouldn’t want to be trapped on a boat!”

Yet, millions do and enjoy themselves. Some people just can’t step out of their shoes and accept not everyone is like them.
I'm working hard on wearing hubby down for a cruise. He thinks the chances of everyone getting sick are way higher than they really are.

I think you’re right on the port AND starboard sides of this argument.

No offense...but I think you need a little “female empowerment”, June. Tell... don’t ask.

Meh. I do that often enough in the day-to-day...I don't want to do that with a vacation because he's the type that will be soured on it from the get-go if I do that. I'd rather miss out than have a bad vacation.

Depends on the cruise line, and sometimes even the specific ship. Disney Cruise Line keeps everything spotless (they're one of the only cruise lines with a perfect CDC inspection record year after year) and makes everyone wash their hands with actual soap and water before entering the buffet line. Norovirus outbreaks are exceedingly rare on DCL, though airborne vectors for stuff like the flu are pretty much impossible to control. They are NOT inexpensive, though (surprise, right?:)). Carnival, on the opposite end, constantly has norovirus outbreaks. Most lines are somewhere in the middle.

RCL does the same safety practices now as well...and others such as Norwegian are moving that direction.

They are half the price of Disney. Rcl’s food is substantially better on the superships. Celebrities is also way better...and they are also cheaper.

Cool. I can only speak about DCL from personal experience, having never sailed RCL or Norwegian (and it's been over 10 years since I sailed on Celebrity and Holland America), but it's good to hear some of the other lines are stepping up their hygiene game.

Honestly: exceeded it in every way except chipmunks.

I just talked to a work contact who just got back from royals new island complex and said it blows away castaway. And I do like castaway.
