Yeah, thats definitely stereotyping.

You're always so overly concerned with how other people spend their money. It screams of some sort of desperate need to feel like you could do the same thing.

Here's the thing about the starship: Its ~100 rooms with a 3 day/2 night stay. That limits it to less than 20,000 booked rooms per year. How many Star Wars fans do you think would want to do this and have the money to do so? 100,000? Thats five years. 250,000? Thats 12 and a half years. The crazy idea that 'this will fail' is beyond silly. Its like saying that Savi's won't always be booked solid. Low capacity means its easy to fill.
The Star Trek Experience lasted 10 years, and it wasn't nearly as immersive as this will be.

Of course, it wasn't as expensive as this will be, either...

Well, then, you better hold on tight to your money.

Feel better?

I guess before it just wasn't so completely obvious.🤷‍♀️

Maybe I now have official adult eyes and brain power 🤪
A standard defense of commercialism in Star Wars...including the new theme park stuff - Is “they’ve always done this”. That ignores what it is they were selling.

While it’s true that Kenner loaded the shelves for 5 years in the 80’s and George pummeled toys r us from 95-2005...putting everything on equal ground is irresponsibly, intentionally not looking at the context.

Since originals - which powered all that merch - 7 movies have been made. If you score them somewhat conservatively, you get a letter grade of D, D, C, B, B, C, C. An aggregate 2.0.
I’m being more than generous. Probably really like a 1.5.

What would you grade the originals? If the theory it’s “always been the same”...then you’d have to give them a B, B, D?? To get to a 2.3?

Just an analogy.

My grades would be A, A+, B+/A-

But reasonably the lowest you can go is B+, A, B

Lot of personal opinion masquerading as fact in this post...

Now that Galaxy's Edge is (essentially) open, is there any evidence of where the transport from the hotel will drop guests off within Galaxy's Edge? Or will they actually demo/rebuild a part of Galaxy's Edge so soon after it opens to add the entrance way?

given how much they neutered the land... I really don't have high hopes they will actually build the hotel out to the original design and instead rely more on 'self paced' kind of stuff that doesn't require performers :(

Legitimate concern. My initial response would have been that for a paying premium thing like this hotel stay, they'd roll out the red carpet and make it support as an "upsell" for people to go to. But I would have said the same thing for Savi's and Droid Depot and they surprisingly did not hire actual actors to run those shows despite guests selling out hundreds of dollars.

I can actually get not having live entertainment in the land even though I think its stupid. But why wouldn't you have high quality actors working in the upcharge stuff which you want to encourage?

If it sells out without actors why try? Disney will maximize profit as much as humanely possible. Its sadly there specialty.

I've heard rumors (from the GE discord) that the gatherers at DHS's version of Savi's are indeed union actors.
