Literally the first person I've heard say that. In your opinion, what was wrong with the changes?
Nothing but not good enough to change the fact that it's just a simulator.

If this forum had a "rec" or "+1" or "like" function, I'd use it right here.I eagerly await the opportunity to experience both of these rides for the first time next trip, and I shall withhold my opinions until that time. Flashy technology alone does not make a good ride, and that goes for both Disney and Universal.
Honestly like Star Tours it's really stupid to compare the two. One is a simulator one is not. It's like comparing Dinosaur and Peter Pans Flight or GMR and Soarin. They are way too different.
Once you get over the technology behind the ride, you start to notice things, like the blurriness of the screens, the fact that theres not much of a story and more of "lets bombard you with things you remember from the movies getting in your face", or the lackluster cliche ending - "its caving in!" and having the characters clap and cheer for us even though we didn't really do anything.
I can honestly say that Star Tours II has much better re-ridability now due to the multiple sequences.
... I'd probably still go with Forbidden Journey, but I do think Star Tours II is a top-notch ride.
The story of Forbidden Journey is mainly in the queue of the attraction. Portrait gallery especially. Disney has some attractions that are light on story and heavy on detail. As for the blurry screens...they're 3D projections. I'm sure they could have gone for a crisp 2D look but you get an amazing feeling of depth without using 3D glasses. Considering how fast you're "flying" the blur doesn't bother me a bit.I was absolutely blown away by Forbidden Journey the first time I rode and the subsequent times. However, now that I've ridden it so many times its actually kind of lost some of it's impact on me. There's a certain innovative twist to its multiple possible storylines though.Yes I have, a simulator is still just that, the changes aren't really that impressive considering the original ride had such a long run.
I haven't experienced the new Star Tours yet, so I can't say. Wait, yes I can say. Forbidden Journey. It's a dark ride, simulator, coaster, and robotic arm attraction all in one. No theme park attraction will ever beat that for me.
Its pretty obvious that you cant compare the two. One story is about Magic/Fantasy stuff while the other is a Space theme. Comparing Star Wars and Harry Potter is like comparing Football to Futbol, its not comparable.
Sure it is. As much (or as little) as it is a dark ride, simulator, and robotic arm attraction. It is not in any way, shape, or form a "coaster." Wow.
Some people will dig pretty deep to find something to complain about, apparently.
