Star Tours II - Soft opening watch

DL CM started riding today for testing. About 40 minutes ago they started so yes reports should start showing up soon!

I won't be in town until opening day, so soft openings wouldn't mean much to me. Except I'd like to know if it is running at capacity.

Anyone know if on opening day if the ride will be open at rope drop or not until after the ceremony?

I'm certain that would be the goal but I also think they would not guarantee it. If I was a betting person, I'd bet it will be ready.

I'm there the week of the opening (my last day is the day of the grand opening). I'm hoping that there will be some previews earlier that week, so I can avoid the insanity there on the day of the grand opening.

There were some postings on twitter using comments like "epic", "new favorite ride", and "awesome". Evidently though, CM's have been 'encouraged' not to share too much.

I get the feeling some haters desperately wanted to pan this attraction. But they should realize after the new Haunted Mansion hitchhiking ghost scene that WDI is back!

I'm very hopeful that the new Star Tours is going to be a great ride. It is true though, that anyone riding previews, be it CMs or guests, typically always give EVERYTHING extremely high ratings, simply because they are on the buzz of a preview. It's been a common trend ever since I've been following openings.

Looks very nice. One thing I'm happy about is the absence of "The Adventures Continue" tagline that was put on Disneyland's new sign. Just having Star Tours by itself is much better in my opinion; the tagline just seems kinda corny.
