I'm a huge star wars fan but I just really hope that they don't bombard it with the prequels to push it more towards the younger generation.

From chipandco.com

"Stephanie, thanks for reading Chip and Co and for your question. Star Tours is scheduled to close for refurbishment in October 2010. It will be reopened in 2011. There is no official date for the reopening. We’ll keep everyone posted, but projections are pretty far out at this point, so don’t count on it being open in early 2011. Star Tours, which debuted in 1987, will be redone in a high definition, Disney Real-D 3D screen, with an improved motion simulator. It will feature Jar Jar Binks and a podracing scene similar to that shown in the Phantom Menace"

Please not Jar Jar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd rather be frozen in carbonite, or hit in the nads, same feeling either way.

Yes
I remember the first time I was on the ride and thinking...Who the hell is rex? When was he or this ship I'm on IN Star Wars?

I felt the same way but now that I rode it recently on my last trip I got out of denial and saw that it needs to be updated. Just the hair style of the person in the pre-boarding video screams dated.

But for me that's priceless nostalgia. The 80's look and feel of the ride is classic. From the boarding video etc I love it and am scared to think that it will be plagued with footage from the prequels
