My sister is a pass holder and as they have not announced a pass holder preview I don't know what kind of soft opening we will be looking at (if any). Disneyland passholders could enter a raffle to get into a preview, but nothing for WDW is on the radar.

Of course, Disney is keeping things heavily under wraps. As someone already mentioned, it is very different then other ride openings which were not kept nearly as secret as this one is.

There are also scary rumors that all of the simulators won't be running in time for the grand opening weekend. I pray these rumors are not true, because I would like to ride the thing without waiting in a four hour line.

I have heard the rumors also about not running at full capacity, and honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if they're working 24/7 up until the 20th to get this open. So no AP previews.

I'm wondering how to adjust my touring plan on the 20th to be honest. Normally I would go straight to Toy Story Mania for fastpasses but I'm thinking the lines on that ride won't be as extreme and maybe I should focus on Star Tours.

I hope so, maybe I can do it multiple times instead of once after opening.

I'd like to do Star Tours too, but there's no way I'm standing in a four hour line for it. I doubt I'd stand in a 10 minute line for it!!

No one has ridden it yet (as it's not open).

I know the ride isn't open yet... Poster's statement sounded like they had first hand experience. I've also seen that Whylightbulb has posted inside info before.

No one had ridden it? I disagree. Plenty have riden it. Lucas has riden it. I'm sure many imagineers have riden it. I don't know what WhyLightBulb's role is, but if he is behind the scenes it is possible that he has experienced the attraction.

My plan is to :

Get there around 7 (hour before opening)
Head straight to Star Tours as soon as they let us in
Grab a FP if they are available for a later ride
Ride once
Buy Pin
Try to ride a 2nd time, and/or use FP
Get the heck out of dodge

SWW are crazy busy days to begin with, and pretty uncomfortable crowds after the first few hours. I would not plan to really tour the rest of the park much, because it's going to be so mobbed. And rides like TSM are likely to be just as busy because of non-SW loving family members dragged along for the ride (so to speak).

We are on vacation, meaning we have to at some point tour the rest of Hollywood Studios. Not doing it is not an option. We are methodical Disney people and will experience all our favorite attractions if it kills us. Lol. We are doing half days, one park in the morning, one in the evening. I was at Star wars weekend last year and we were able to visit everything, but that was using a fastpass then ride combo for Toy Story Mania. We are now having priority issues. Though I'm thinking if we were to access a fast pass for Star Tours, followed by getting in line for it, by the time we reach TSM it won't be TOO bad of a line since a lot of Star Wars fanatics will stick to Tours for a while. Hard to speculate. Also, we could experience TSM on our evening the next day. *shrug* Might have to wing it.

What say you to the rumors of a possible 6am opening the day the ride re-opens?

Have people ridden it already? More than likely. Can any of them talk about it? Absolutely not.
