Which is why I said its one of the busiest. Christmas is by the a long way the busiest, with Easter and Thanksgiving on it heals and 4th of July can be it or miss. Whenever you see the turnabout cones set up at the MK parking lot (like they are at the mo.) you know its extremely busy.

In MK, we have busier days (Christmas, New Years, 4th of July), but not a busier two weeks than the Easter period. No one day is as rough as the winter holidays, but every single day is packed in.

All i know is that i've got dhs orientation on the 1st, its showing in the hub, been statused away from the park for to long so have to do it again.

I remember going through orientation in a park I'd already been oriented to, knowing you could do this tour yourself. Good times! :ROFLOL:

Sorry to bump this thread, but I'm getting worried about the lack of news. I'm going to be at WDW from 5/16 to 5/19, and I really hope there's some sort of preview (either AP or general soft opening).

In past trips, I missed Space Mountain's audio addition by 4 days, and I missed HM's new queue by about a week. I really don't want to miss Star Tours by a single day!

No news yet. Stay tuned to WDWMAGIC, as soon as any previews occur or are scheduled, it'll be posted front page at www.wdwmagic.com

Thanks so much - I'll definitely keep checking daily. I would be surprised if there was no preview at all, but I expected to hear more from Disney since opening is about three weeks away.

I remember Everest was open in February 2006 even though its grand opening was about 2 months later. Obviously a soft opening period for Star Tours couldn't be nearly as long, but all I need is a single day.

Agreed. I was there for that one, but really thought that they would have made a much bigger deal of Star Tours and would already be soft open.

actually its not early. Its late, real late.
We knew about Everest Sneak peaks and previews well ahead of time, a couple of months that allowed me to buy a quick plane ticket and reserve a room with time to spare....

With Star Tours we arent going to know till like the week before, definitely not normal comparing it to track records.

I know everest was a brand new ride and all but Star Tours Is also a new ride at this point.

Sucks that they havent released a darn thing

I thought it was a bit early, but I just wanted to check. Thanks.

The morning surprise was listed long before Tiki Room went down. Announcing that would be one crappy surprise.

I doubt it's a trip on Star Tours since they'd have to transport 1000s of people from the Contemporary to DHS and back...makes no sense.

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for a sneak peek at the beginning of that week. I'm at WDW for the D23 event and I'm leaving on Wednesday night (the 18th). It would be a huge bonus to get to experience it before I leave.

The plan right now is to attempt a soft open sometime the week before opening day. Obviously as always this is subject to change. I'm pretty sure there will only be a select few that will be disappointed with this ride.

I will be at Disney World the 12th to the 16th of May. It is my hope that I will be able to get a preview of Star Tours 2. I would hate to miss it by 4 days.

People can always find something to complain about. Have you riden it?

No one has ridden it yet (as it's not open).

I'd like to now what is a soft opening? And how does one find out about whan it is?

A soft opening is a preview of a new ride that is being tested before being officially opened. There is no guarantee to a soft opening- just luck of the draw, and being in the right place at the right time
