Staggs says changes to Fantasyland...

My main question is with all of the new changes, are things still on track for 2012 or should I bump back my trip more? I don't want my first visit in coughcough years to be affected by all the construction.

And yay for more family friendly stuff! I love the Princess stuff but all the M&Gs and PH were super stereotypically girly :ROFLOL:

They are one the right track!

There is a lot of competition right now in Central Florida, and it is wise of Disney to reflect on their competition and give the most bang for their buck. They are on the right track. I look forward to the new plans!

I believe in the first article Staggs says things are still on track for 2012/2013 opening...

Was everyone else as impressed as I was with how Staggs handled himself in the interview? It came across like he knows there's room for improvement but isn't willing to make others in the company look bad.

He seemed pretty classy to me.

He is much more likable than Rasulo. So far I am impressed with his style of leadership and his apparent insight.

Have we heard much from folks who work with/under him? I'm curious to know if that sentiment is carried by them as well. From where I'm sitting (well, hanging) he sure seems like a breath of fresh air.

BTW, NoChesterHester, I love the name. I couldn't agree more.

they may be looking at putting in another ride. So it would either be a ride based on Pixies, Dumbo, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella or Sleeping Beauty. I'd have to lean towards Dumbo seeing as they never really knew what to do with the Barnstormer area,

I agree with your theory here. Dumbo makes the most sense based on the need and the layout.

Also, knowing that a variation of "Mater's Junkyard Jamboree" was planned for PH, I can easily seeing this being re-themed for Dumbo's Circus.

Of course, the challenge they'll face is presenting a whimsical cartoon circus without becoming another Dino-Rama or Paradise Pier.

Since MJJ is technically just a carnival spinner (but a unique one designed by Disney) they could takemake it a circus ride. But that might look cheap.

However, if they enclosed the ride, threw in some blacklights, projections, video screens, smoke, mirrors, disco balls, and a booming sound system pumping in "Pink Elephants On Parade", I'd easily wait 30-45 minutes for a spin!

^I don't get why they are fighting to put one of those rides out when we all knew a Lion King or Nightmare ride would get much bigger crowds. Though if they could fit a Dumbo ride and a Big E-Ticket ride I would go for that.

I agree that they'd both be great/popular rides but Nightmare might be too scary for FL and Lion King might be too animally...

At the same time Pinnochio is the scariest movie I've ever seen and that doesn't seem to stop people from that movie with kids...

I've heard from CMs on Disneyland boards that when he visited Disneyland, he was the nicest and most polite guy. And apparently he visits often with his family.

Sounds like a class act. :)

Nightmare Before Christmas is not Walt animation. Therefore it wouldn't go into FLand.

Casey Jr. should be like our FLand's TTA. :)

The Pinnochio ride would be a great little addition! Up until Hong Kong opened we were the only Magic Kingdom without the Pinnochio ride.

"Can't" and "Won't" do not mean the same thing.

(Anybody want to guess my pet peeve?
Telling people you know something but can't talk about it. Penn & Teller have a good word for that...)

What gives you the right to make assumptions about me? Drop the condescending attitude.
Maybe you aren't "all-knowing" and I actually CAN'T talk about it. If all of your info is passed to you from "sources" and I get mine first hand, I wonder who is more "in the loop."

I'm not here to be in a competition. I'm just here for the enjoyment. Lets move on.

The reason I posted was I told people there was a chance of me finding things out, I did, but in the process I'm not able to talk about it. I was posting generically to give some insight. I promised people I would post and kept my word to them even if it was not as informative as people may have wanted.

Trust me, I'm far from "all-knowing"...

If you get your info from having access to documents, plans or the like, you would be more in the loop. Granted.
But for me, information is useless if it can't be shared. That's the idea of boards like this, IMHO, to get information out.
Unless posting what you know will directly cause harm, I don't believe in holding back.
If that us what you are dealing with, I completely understand.

Then again, if many people know the same stuff, no harm can result from sharing.

Hmm... So does that mean that you can reveal what the exact new plans are?

I wish I could share, but posting what I know would cause direct harm.

In regards to the info, some people on the boards have hit the nail right on the head and others are far out in left field. It's just personally frustrating that I can't confirm or deny anything.:( My vague statements are all I got.

Lol, I'm working to find those. Lol.

Do you know if it's a whole new mini land? Or just an attraction.
