Haha- if you sent it to me I would sooo read it. Course that wouldn't matter because the only person in the world that I actually talk to is my husband... oh the woes of being a stay at home mom married to a man who works from home! :ROFLOL:

My two cents: I get the impression the Alice dark ride might be the addition, not the Mine Coaster. One of Lee's comments makes me think that this addition is somewhat out of the blue--something that hasn't been discussed before. If so, that would rule out the Mine Coaster, and would boost the liklihood of the Alice dark ride.

But here's what I'm wondering: if it IS the Alice dark ride, what are the chances that Disney would base the ride on Burton's movie, and NOT the animated film?

Might upset the purists, but I think someone mentioned that the purists might be upset by the proposed changes.

As cool as that maybe I don't see it happening. Yeah the movie did gross 1 billion dollars but the movie takes place after alice's first adventure in wonderland. I'm sure Disney would go for the original story.

I'm still saying it's either the Mine coaster or Alice dark ride.

Im definitely saying its Dumbo from reading back through this thread. That was my first deduction and a few days later, Im sticking with that. I think they are going to get rid of the Barnstormer all together and either:

A. Get rid of Pixie Hollow all together and combine the PH/Barnstormer location into a Casey Jr. Train ride which would fit well near the Raceway for kinetics and they could even make some alterations to the raceway to have the two intertwine.

or

B. Move the dumbo spinners where the Barnstormer location is now, get rid of PH and use that area to the north and to the left of Mermaid for either the Casey Jr Train Ride or to turn that Pixie ride that is seen in the artwork into a Dumbo version of it.

With Staggs using the terminology "aspirational", the first thing that comes to mind is "I think I can, I think I can, I think I can"....and thats got Casey Jr written all over it. :king:

The Casey Jr Train Ride was discussed when the blueprints were first leaked and we all saw part of a train track that went to nowhere.

Hot or Cold Juan? :ROFLOL:

And I don't see how the Alice ride would be out of the blue... I mean people talk about the possibility all the time and there is already an alice ride in DL.

And people talk about a fifth gate, monorail expansion, etc.

I don't recall hearing about the possibility of an Alice dark ride for MK before now.

Oh, and if the addition is Casey Jr., does that mean we'd be getting Storybookland, too?

I truly hope not. Then people will complain oh we always get DL's leftovers and this and that. And then it would make our Fantasyland less unique.

Thanks for explaining. I didn't bother to see the movie, but knowing Disney's penchant for capitalizing on the "new" franchise (see "Pirates", Pixar movies, etc), I thought it might be a possibility. I think, given the choice, I would prefer an updated version of DL's Alice ride.

DLP has a Casey Jr. ride, correct? Do they also have Storybookland? I wonder what a MK version of Casey Jr. would look like without Storybookland---my memory of the DL Casey Jr. tells me it wasn't anything to get excited about.

No problem :). I actually fell asleep on it in a IMAX theatre. I hated the story but the visuals were great.

But back on topic, yeah I would rather see an updated version of DL's. With more effects. As long as it goes inside and outside like DL's I'll be happy. Maybe it will go into an outdoor maze :).

I'm just going to throw this out there as a "never going to happen in a million years, but if it does, I want to be on record as having at least thought of it" ...

One thing that would be universally positive, appeal to both boys and girls, solve capacity issues and based on a current property in the parks is ... rebuilding the original Journey Into Imagination as a Fantasyland E-ticket.

Of course, they'd have remove another attraction in Future World and it would cause dominoes to fall all over the place, which would require the type of forward thinking Disney doesn't do anymore. But it would, at least, solve the MK problems (and cause Epcot problems).

It wasn't. It's a boring little train ride. Storybook land is pretty cool but I like it better at night. I still would rather see Alice or Mine Coaster.

I would be on board for a Storybook Land and/or the Alice ride. I do not think the Mine coaster will happen. Haven't too many people said no to it?

I know I'm being bold, but I say Wonderland is coming to FL. Well maybe not an entire mini section, but with them sprucing up the tea cups and such, I think now is the best time of all if they're going to bring it to WDW (especially after the new movie, but the ride/section being based on the cartoon, of course). I think it would be a fantastic. Juan did say it was a bit warm to being based on something already in Fantasyland but being a bit cool to be based on something that doesnt have an attraction. So I figured they have the teacups so its not really a dark ride/attraction based on Alice, but it is still an attraction based of something in FL. Is this wishful thinking or possibility?

Juan, blink twice if I'm right...:lookaroun
