No I dont believe anything was left in those areas or sitting behind curtains from the previous sse. It was all ripped out. Martin or someone else can verify if thats right or wrong probably.

Nope...i got really excited too...oh well, maybe we all have to come to grips with the fact that the sse descent that we see now is all that we are gonna get
Marni, I read the post about the gas cloud area and I saw that working this afternoon (I had not seen it before or at least recently). The open area was just past that, too. It was a pretty long stretch of open area. I know that what I saw today was not the same as last night.
Maybe it was nothing but junk, but today was definitely different.
I hope that I am not coming off defensive or offensive, but I just wanted to be a little more clear. Sorry if I sound rude, that is definitely not my intent.

^ No worries. So far as I know, rockwork isn`t part of the work in progress. What I do know is the `94 rehab involved structural spraying of a foam substance (fire retardant) which when dried looks just like rock structures. There was a lot of it just before the peppers ghost area. However, the `long stretch of open area` as you describe it does sound like the peppers ghost area.

Shelley, I think yesterday you saw the small alcove on the right that is the storage space and construction room with the curtain left open.
Then today that alcove room had the curtain covering it, but it looks like further down on your right hand side where the old pepper's ghost effect of people talking on video phones has been removed and given way to new construction. :wave:

Rode again this morning (this being able to ride it as often as I would like without hearing any gruff is AWESOME), and the gas cloud area had 3 projections, there was another one that was near the track that was painted on with paint that was black light reactive, and some of the 'rock' had this painting on it, too. I noticed more plain black triangles than I had before (I really wasn't looking for them before, but I couldn't help but notice them this morning). The ride itself was awesome as usual, but for some reason felt darker than any other time I had ridden it.

I've got almost as much anticipation about the updates coming to the ending as I did about the wand coming down. This was my favorite attraction in all of EPCOT, possibly WDW and I've been trying to wait to plan our next trip till after its finished. If this gets finished soon, I may just take advantage of the free birthday visit next year and head down and treat myself to the updated SSE.
