SSE Question

I just got off of SSE, and I have a question...

First let me say that I haven't ridden it from the beginning of June. In the descent I looked over after the infinity curtains and noticed that there we some black sheets missing and you could see what looked like rock work and temporary work stations. Is this new? Did I miss the thread on it?

You could definitely see the triangles lighting up, too.

Sorry if any of this sounds weird, but I am typing this from the post show area!

Thanks,
Shelley

PS - it went down for a little bit at 4:30 this afternoon, too.

Ooo! Thank you so much for posting this! :sohappy:

Sorry I'm of no assistance in answering your question, but this makes me so excited to hear.

It was pretty much right at the point where the infinity lights end and the black curtains begin.

I am planning on going back tomorrow morning, so I will see if anything else is new!

It was super exciting to see first hand!

Rock work... as in old moon ending recreation or old moon ending leftovers...? Not sure what's happening behind those curtains... could be those rumored projectors...

Are you sure you didn't just the rock/nebulea thing from the old ending? I know it's still there, just not lit purple anymore.

The curtain was AWOL! You could make out what looked like long thin 'pieces' of what looked like rock almost floating in an open area and what looked to be a table with something on it (It reminded me of an old school light board with the lights on the dimmer switch slides) and maybe a chair. I was leaning so far out of that omnimover!!! I was afraid I was going to fall over :)!

I was half tempted to pull out the camera, but it was pretty full of people. Sorry...

Sorry the mobile version that I use of the site eon't let me quote!

But to EpcotServo, maybe it was...I don't know. I *vaguely* remember the different endings, however I don't remember being able to see 'into' that area before when I was here in June. That is why I was so confused/interested, because I haven't seen anything on it being there before on this site.

Just trying to figure out what I saw, and I am not trying to sound like chicken little either. SSE (besides the TTA) is my absolute favorite ride and has been sine I was about 8 and I love all the attention it has been getting.

Sorry for the long and frequent posts...

Yeah do take flash photos if there arent alot ofpeople around you if you go tomorrow. Pwease :)

I think I know where you're talking....you just left the large worm tunnel of infinite blue stars. Your entering a smaller, tunnel like corridor. Curving down backwards. There should be some strings of blue lights giving way to some white stars. On the right hand side there is indeed an alcove for equipment and projections and storage. I bet the Cast Members left the curtain pulled back by accident, showing whats in there, or allowing light to leak through into the ride.

The only rockwork that I'm aware of, are simple cardboard cutouts of moonrock that are still up in the planeterium, attatching to the railings.

I think any rockwork down in the descent is not really rockwork, but cutouts to help deter projected images, etc.

Here's a pic of where the first triangles start, with an installed cloud-like rock-like cutout in the upper right corner of the picture. This is where the former glittery city used to be.

This to me sounds like the gas clouds area on the right, I dont think this is anything new, its the floating gas clouds that just kinda look like rockwork, and in that area has been a work station with a stool etc, sometimes its hidden and sometimes its not, why they keep all that junk sitting there I have yet to figure out. I mean maybe all of that is wrong but this sounds like what has been there since sse reopened.

Thanks aladdin2007! That makes sense, because when I got there at around 4:30 it was down. Maybe they just forgot to pull the curtain?

I am still headed to EPCOT tomorrow morning (I can't wait for lunch at Le Cellier), and I will see if they have recovered the area.

Thanks again!

*crosses fingers that all this is a sign of good things to come and not just technician negligence*

Unfortunately, I'll have to agree that it sounds like someone forgot to close a curtain.

Looking forward to your update tomorrow, VT GAL!

Also, everytime Im there which is about two or three times a month, the ride has been down every afternoon or early evening. Im guessing because of the computer screen monitor technology, but before the redo I can hardly remember it ever having to be closed like that so often. :brick:
