 I totally agree with you on this. I have always wondered why SSE begins so dull. It always seems like it takes forever to get "into" the story. You climb and climb, and you creak, and squeak with nothing..haha

As far as Jeremy Irons and the music, I LOVE them both....it doesn't matter how many times I ride SSE, I always get chills riding it.

I like the formality and respectability of Iron's work.

and to you, and early WELCOME TO ORLANDO!, I hope your move goes well.

Thanks, Speck!

As you can tell...I am so excited! I've been wanting to move down there for years...I feel like one of my big dreams is finally coming true. I can't wait to be a cast member. Hopefully there will be some good openings for me.

Call me very nostalgic...

...but I still miss the narration done by Walter Cronkite. His voice and pacing for the show's scenes were much, much better than the current version. I still get goosebumps when I remember Walter saying, "Behold, the majesty of the Sisteen Chapel..." as you go into the Renaissance/Michelangelo scene.

Ohhhhh "Empress Room" I know what you mean! I would prefer that after we see the family of three in their living room watching all thier TV;s in the 1960s [the last original scene], I would like to see once again a gradual change in progress from the 60s to the dawn of the 21st century and beyond.

Such as...in the two first versions of the ride with Vic Perrin and Walter Cronkite we saw a man working on his micro prossecor in the 1970s then a woman on her macontosh with floppy disks in the 1980s, then the network communications centerof the 1990s. I think they should restore that.

When we pass through the transparent globe, making out way to the top of SSE. On our left we should pass a realistic scene of the two kids in their bedrooms in 2000, and the dawn of the 21st, then further up on our right we see a family in their entertainment room with duturistic gadgets to come.

At the top we see an advanced star field with the astronauts working on the satelite dish with Earth in the distance.

I think if they added and changed SSE to put this back in, it would be great, let alone giving us new ride vehicles, sound, and lighting, with maintence to the sets and AA's.

On the decent down backwards I think the first part should be "tomorrow's child" with a newer version of the song, with scenes of children, then we switch over to the current musical score to see a more detailed and complex city of the future, and then SSE the model, floating through space, then the post show should be a brand new version of the Earth Station.

I also agree that there should only be one saftey speil somewheres at the start of the ride, none when we turn backwards since they already told us at the begining of the ride, and NO MORE TV'S, with a brand new star tunnerl on the way up to the begining of communication and egypt scene. :sohappy:

Wow that sounds awesome! I never saw that but if they give SSE a rehab they should definitely bring that back.

DDuckFan130 it was a neat thing to see! I got a pic some where around here of the 1990s Comunication Center.

All three of these sets were combined where we currently have the two children on opposite sides of the "pond" talking to each other.

Now it is interesting to realize that most people [including me ;) ] do not prefer the way SSE ends now, and I think it would be more right if they brought those 3 original scenes back to complete the 20th century, and as we go up the hill to the climax of SSE they can add in two new scenes, one of the dawn of the 21st century, and another scene into our future.

Bringing back the astronauts and satellite dish would make since, let alone making a new star field would be good. I stand firm by that proposal, what they do when we turn backwards and head down, I don't know, but I think adding in some form of Tomorrow's Child would be nice. :sohappy:

Here's a link that shows a picture of what the communication network scene looked like. It is right at the top of the page .
