I know a lot of people complained about the refurb, but I found the old decor really tacky. It's now much cleaner and fresher.
And oh look, they now have a catfish po'boy. Now he's really irked. Drink your beer and watch your game for a few minutes, 'cause after this, we WALK!
My favourite, minus the tomatoes, of course:

I know, sacrilege.
I like most of jambalaya's components, minus the spice, just not all together.

I'm curious about the sign--it just said church service, but what religious denomination? For some odd reason, the sign seemed unusual to me, I guess. (Oh believe me, I'm no saint--I was just curious, that's all.

I'll leave it to you to figure out which is whose.
I know it's more attractive presentation-wise to serve the lettuce leaves intact, but it's not as convenient. I don't want to have to work for my food, I just want to eat it!

My steak - Carne Asade. Five of the best "hunks" of meat I've had in forever. Sadly, I could only eat three.
I had these last year. They were gross.
I will be sending them Hubby's way along with my leftovers:
Hubby got the Pork Tinga Poblana.
He said it was very good. He appears to be enjoying my food just as much though.

Frontera looks so yummy! I wish we had time to fit that in next time, sadly we don't. Although we were thinking of going to Chicago this summer so perhaps we will go to one of Rick Bayless' restaurants there. When we at at Frontera in Disney Springs my hubs got the carne asada too and liked it, I got the Cocina Half Chicken and loved it. I would get that again in a heart beat.

Next weekend is perfect for me. I'll actually be in the area.
That's downright blasphemous. Although, it has been my experience that most of the jambalaya I've had outside of the New Orleans area is way too spicy. It's like they think we eat cayenne pepper straight.
A harbinger of things to come ... dessert spoons.
Hubby's dessert:

sponge cake soaked with four milks topped with whipped cream, toasted coconut, fresh blackberries, and lime zest (contains gluten, dairy, seeds)

with Mexican vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce

Go big or go home ... I hate half of it! Not half of the ice cream though, 'cause generally I could take it or leave it.
You know who does like ice cream though.
