We're in the thick of the Spring refurbishments, but I couldn't find one of the usual threads that lists those. So I thought this might be helpful for some folks to see the list all in one place.

And yes, East Coasters unfamiliar with the typical refurb schedule for the Anaheim or Tokyo parks will want to sit down for this...

Disneyland U.S.A.
Alice In Wonderland - Now to 7/3
Submarine Voyage - Now to "Fall 2014"
Indiana Jones Adventure - Now to 5/9
Plaza Inn Restaurant - Now to 5/16
Gadget's Go Coaster - Now to 5/16
it's a small world - Now to 5/23
Westward Ho Trading Co. - 4/28 to 5/16
King Arthur Carousel - 4/28 to 5/2
Mark Twain Riverboat - 4/28 to 5/1 (Columbia sailing in her place)
Pirates of the Caribbean - 4/28 to 5/23
Space Mountain - 5/27 to 7/3

Disney California Adventure
Ariel's Undersea Adventure - Now to 5/9
Grizzly River Run - Now to 6/20
Redwood Creek Challenge Trail - Reopened this weekend!

Hmm, I see Space Mountain got pushed back from its last date of May 12. I'd also add another to the list I just found out about:

Matterhorn Bobsleds will be closed August 25 - November 13

A friend told me the other day that the refurb schedule is so whacked out because the budgets were frozen at the beginning of the year (as MiceAge reported) due to the overspend at WDW for MM+, and by the time the budgets were unfrozen everything was pushed way back - which is why you're seeing a GRR refurbishment in summer.

If only something like this could have been foreseen! (smacks head to desk)

I imagine Space got pushed back due to the 24 hour day and all of Memorial Day weekend. Looks like the GRR, Alice, and the subs will be the only rides down that weekend.
Speaking of GRR, wouldn’t it be nice the have it online this week with temps expected to be in the 90’s?

Going 5/5-7 hope it doesn't affect the trip to much. Report to follow. Does anyone know if LA schools get cinco de mayo off?

What's tough is when all the scheduled refurb stuff is closed then you get multiple big attractions all going down at once. What's open gets crazy long lines. Add in the Santa Ana winds, exterior queues, and we're all laying on our beds watching tv at the hotel. ;)

Not sure if it means anything or indicative of anything but we haven't seen anyone in the walls for the subs all week. Then again, I haven't seen anyone working in or around Grizzly River or Small World both of which are totally drained.

So compared to the the world what do you think? I think my crew will miss POTC now, but SM will be open. That's life right?
I think we are quite spoiled to the much more relaxing type vacation the cruises offer. ;) If I had to choose a coast for parks I'd go west. No MBs. No super planning needed. We were most unfortunate to get the Santa Ana winds this week. If the weather had been more the norm I think we would've enjoyed ourselves a thousand times more.

Ugh regretting booking now. We'll see what moaning and complaining at check-in will do. Probably just get a disney poor sport button lol.

Which side of Matterhorn?

We walked into Tomorrowland, made a left just past Matterhorn, and when we got on the line we were ushered to the left. That was the only side running on May 28th. Which side is that?

Space Mountain - 5/27 to 7/3

It was too bad we missed it by two days. Oh well. Plenty left to keep us busy!

Several of us were concerned about closures before our recent first trips to DL. We all had a great time despite any closures. I'm sure you will too.

Bummer we will miss out on Space Mountain. I like it better in DL than WDW. I guess we can get by though. BTMRR was down last year when we visited. Looking forward to checking that out this summer! We will be there next Sunday. Can't wait!
