Sports Event in July and resorts staying at

I know a lot of people don't like being at resorts when there are sports teams there for an event. As a heads up, Disney's Wide World of Sports is hosting a baseball tournament. The age groups start at 8 and under and go all the way up to 18 and under. It is July 3 - 9 and they will be staying at the All-Star Sports and the Caribbean. I know this because our son participated as a player in 2000 and his now taking his team as a coach in 2009. We've told him to stay at the All-Star Sports with his girlfriend, the kids and their parents.

My oldest DD and I were in Disney in 2006 from June 28-July 3 for a soccer tournament. We were booked into ASSports. It was a mob scene. Not only was there the soccer tournament, but a baseball tournament and a dance competition being held at the Swan and Dolphin. Kids were running around ASSports without supervision, people were pounding on our doors at midnight-2am. After staying on site at OKW, I was not impressed with ASSports. Other than that, her team lost every game, but hey they had fun and we were in Disney and we did have an amazing time!

Yeah, we had that problem in 2000 when we were there. One of the many reasons we don't like the All-Star Sports. I only told my son to stay there so that he'd be with his team and parents and because the Coronado was not one of the resorts (we don't like the Caribbean). We may surprise him and have him stay at CSR with the girlfriend and pay the difference in price.

Nice! My parents did that on our honeymoon. We were booked for POR the whole time we were there, but we "magically" ended up at the GF for our last two nights.
