They were playing DDR in the house, so yep.

The Incredibles was on the theatre marquee (released October 27th), so Halloween 2004!

For some reason I knew a Malcolm in the Middle episode was coming, I don't know if someone had mentioned it or was just a good speculator. I also think they are specifically targeting Modern Family, supposedly.

I guess this also means next week might be the last sitcom.

I want them to do a take on Arrested Development and suddenly have Ron Howard narrating. Or have his daughter Bryce do it. Not far fetched considering she’s a director for Disney at the moment.

Noticed a shout out to the original Pietro actors’ other super hero role.

I didn’t see Malcolm in the Middle as the sitcom parody of choice coming.
Same here. Perhaps this is saying that Disney/Fox are officially merged, since MitM is, or will be, on Disney+. Would also make sense why they are using the Fox version of Pietro.
Was half expecting something within corp Disney's ownership like Home Improvement.
Me too, but now they own Fox and Malcolm in the Middle.
That didn’t even debut until 2000. So we just skipped the 90s?
Yup. No 90s, right to the year 2000. So, I wonder if we skipped the 90s because that is when Captain Marvel takes place?
FWIW both Pietro actors were in Kick ***
I didn't realize that until I watched some Easter Egg videos. Very cool.

Because of episode 4, they had to chop off a decade. So, instead, they made an 80's/90's hybrid episode. Episode 5 truly contained elements of the 80's AND early 90's, so it encompassed both decades to fill the gap. And people have to realize that they are using only family-centered shows.

As for Hayward, my wife suggested that Pietro was Hayward controlling from the outside. It seemed like that to me at first. It's an interesting thought but doesn't fit the narrative. It seems more like Hayward is like Stryker or Trask, trying to use Vision to create a super soldier or Sentinel program to defend the world against "mutants" (those with witch-like powers). Meanwhile, faux Pietro could be trying to tap into Wanda's secrets in order to create a mutant force. Typical X-Men plot.

But so was the 1998 Parent Trap remake (?) I thought that was an odd combo of movie titles to choose.
Sorta feels intentional. Like Wanda's control is breaking down enough that times are being mixed up.

Also, looking at 90s sitcoms, it sorta makes sense that she "skipped" straight to the 2000s because a lot of those are really out of place with the vibe they (and she) are trying to go for. Seinfeld, Friends, Frazier... even the family based comedies are pretty out of place. Wanda wouldn't really relate to having to move away from your home and live with a lot of richer family members (Fresh Prince of Bel-Air) or having friends help raise children after your wife dies (Full House).

Superhero family with powers.

Wanda and Pietro are twins, as well as the boys, just like the twins in Parent Trap. Also, we see one of the parents, Vision, seems to be trapped in Wanda's 'hex.'
