I have always been a big fan of the Indiana Jones films, even though some supernatural things in the 3 films scared me as a little child. I am a big fan of Indiana Jones himself. He does not have supernatural powers or anything, but is a man who makes mistakes and that is one reason why I like him even more. You know when I was a little child one time I had this really wierd dream and one thing in that dream that I remember is me being in this strange jail with Indiana Jones lol

Anyways, I did not expect this new Indiana Jones movie to be like the first 3 and to me it was not. But I did enjoy the movie very much. I saw it twice yesterday and I believe I will see it a couple more times in the Cinema. I still like the first 3 a lot better though.

There were a lot of things in this movie that were like the first 3 films. Like the idea of starting the movie with something that has little to do with the rest of the movie. Though there can be some connections between what happens when the movies start and what happens with the rest of the movie. Like in Raiders of the Lost Ark when Indy was trying to get that golden idol he ran into Dr. Rene Belloq who turned out to be the main villian in the movie when Indy and the Nazi's were looking for the Ark during the rest of the movie. Anyways some other things in this movie that was like the first 3 are the action, adventure and some freaky things that happend that are beyond the law of Science if you will.

But still this movie did feel way different than the first 3. True the first 3 were different from eachother, especially Indiana Jones in the Temple of Doom that had the evil Goddess Kali in it. You never see Kali in the movie, except in the form of a huge idol. But you do see the works of her dark powers in the film. Anyways there was still something about the first 3 films that all kinda felt the same in a way. It's hard to explain.

I really did enjoy this new Indiana Jones films and I will purchased it on dvd, but I like the first 3 a lot better. I guess I am so used to the first 3. So anyways if you want to see this movie, go check out out. I felt like it was a good movie, though you might also find that it just seems different from the first 3.

Thanks. I don't really trust critic's reviews and we're torn about this one. Still have Iron Man and Narnia to see too. And I want to see those first. As long as you weren't dissapointed (and it doesn't seem you were), I guess I'll have to make time for this one too.

I liked it, although it was a little contrived at the end. But still a lot of fun -- and great to see classic moviemaking style again! Yes, there was CGA, but no quick editing.

Mostly it was fun to see Indy again.

I will probably comment more later, when I have a chance. Not the best one, but still very fun and worth seeing with an enthusiastic audience (like this weekend).

I am actually just starting to read the book. I saw the movie at midnight and thought it was good, I have to go see it again though since i was pretty tired and well almost fell asleep before the movie started.

I just got back from seeing it. While not the best movie (and, as others above have stated, the ending was just a tad far-fetched, even for an Indy movie), it was still a lot of fun.

I loved it! It was so good to be back again. To see Harrison jumping onto trucks and scared of snakes, it was just a pleasure. It was kept really consistent with the other three, loved how even the font during the opening credits was exactly like it was 20 years ago. Indy even had the sam suit when he was teaching! It rocked! Also, gotta love Cate Blanchett's haircut and Far Eastern European dialect, it was superbly ferocious.

I loved it too! I'd say its about on par with The Last Crusade. I really can't wait to see what the next on will be like, now that one will be amazing, no doubt.

I was thinking this one might be the last, but on this thread I hear talk about another Indiana Jones movie ? This is not the first time that I heard talk of anothing Indiana Jones movie. On amazon I heard talk about a 5th Indiana Jones movie. I will look forward to it.

There was one scene in the 4th Indiana Jones movie that freaked me out. I will not post about it here, since some reading this thread have not seen the film. I am sure those who have seen it will guess what scene I am talking about. This scene in a way was even more creepy that the scene in the Temple of Doom when that poor man was sacrificed to Kali :lookaroun

I just walked in the door from seeing it.

Wow...George Lucas needs to just stop.

This movie was NOT good. (IMO). I have a feeling that most of the "good" reviews for this movie are based on the nostalgia of the characters coming back to the big screen. We all want Indy...we want to go on his adventures...we want to enjoy them...but this time, no way.

Boo.

BTW, the Ant Scene was basically ripped right from the Mummy movies. Aliens??? Come on.

I wish I went to see Prince Caspian :(

My husband and I saw it at midnight on Wed. and we both thought it was a good movie. Now, definitely not the epic, adventure storytelling we have come to know and love with the previous three, but it was good movie-making nonetheless.

For me it felt like this was one for the people who wanted to see the character(s) back on the screen. Considering Spielberg didn't even want to do it in the first place and we all know how Lucas has handled sequels *cough*starwarsprequels *cough* But it is hard to compare Crystal Skull to "Raiders" and the "Last Crusade"...so I won't. :) Those two are still tops on my Indy list.

*is now eagerly awaiting Batman and X-Files sequels...:lookaroun*

Great movie, and perhaps third best Indy film. The one most frivolous thing though: CG gophers... why? They looked so fake, added so little to the film, and they could have probably used real gophers. The scene of Indy against a mushroom cloud was iconic though.

I'll agree to that, the monkeys and gophers were terrible. Not only did they look fake, but their scenes were too silly and stupid.

But I agree about the mushroom cloud, that was a beautiful CGI job. So was the finale with the temple exploding etc. I believe those two scenes are worth a best SFX nomination alone at the oscars.

Saw it at midnight on Wednesday.
I liked a lot. It's nowhere near Raiders (the greast film of all time), but it holds it's own.
Actually, I think I liked it better than Temple of Doom, putting it in 3rd place for me out of the four.

Quick thought: did the other Indy movies have the famous "I have a bad feeling about this" line? I caught it when I went to see KotCS and can't be bothered to wade through another few hours of film at the moment.
