We had the opportunity to ride SM 6 times while we were there for the week…yes, it’s a mess, 50% of the AA’s aren’t working, but it was like visiting a friend for the last time. I’m going to miss it and hope Tiana will live up to Disney’s own hype. Goodbye, old friend…

Returned to my home state yesterday after wrapping up my trip to the parks with one final ride down Chickapin Hill and there was something oddly bittersweet about it. Splash bookended my trip, it was the first ride I went on and also the last. I'm really gonna miss these critters and the joy they've brought to countless guests from across the globe.

I heard a lot of people discuss the retheme and the scalping of merchandise from the ride when I was on line or hanging around the general area. One guest remarked how odd it was to see ZERO merch pertaining to the ride in the gift shop. But there were also people who had zero idea it was happening, including a cast member I met in front of a pin board at the Caribbean Beach Resort.

Honestly after riding it a few times my opinion on Tiana's Bayou Adventure has soured even more than it already was, I don't understand why they're taking a movie with likable characters and memorable music and using NONE of it. PatF has some perfect music that could be paired with the scenes happening but alas, they're insisting on using ride-original music that doesn't have the same allure or starpower as songs like "Goin' Down the Bayou" or "Dig a Little Deeper." Plus, the absence of characters like Ray and Dr. Facilier's gonna hurt it in the long run.

The creative geniuses that are giving us a salt mine backstory involving an industrious food tycoon will come up with catchy songs that will top the ones in the movie.

I got one of those myself in 2001 I believe. It was a full certificate that had art of the brer characters going down the hill. Never used it cause I thought it was so cool.

Because a retheme is coming. What about that don't you understand? If I were going, I'm with other guests in that I'd like to ride one last time. I mean, you're seriously going to count everything that is "wrong" with it less than a month out before it gets taken down for a retheme?

It’s been in overall crap shape for years John calm down. Your smarter than this. You and I both know disney’s show standards have decreased.

Why does marketing artwork keep showing Br'er Fox and Bear going down the flume when, in the story, it's Rabbit that's being thrown?
I see it more as Br'er Fox and Br'er Bear not expecting the plunge and thus being terrified, while Br'er Rabbit is usually excited given it's his way home

I'm willing to bet by the 23rd, Splash looks even worse than it did in 2012

I actually went on Splash twice on different days this week. Surprisingly they are still fixing broken effects. Noticed animatronics fixed and the audio on the lift bill fixed. Ride is still in bad condition but way better than what’s in that video.

I think it’s funny that the AAs apparently require daily maintenance/repair of some sort. What are they, clockwork or something?

Friend did their goodbye ride over the weekend. The entire rabbit trap scene was stationary, so it was just a frozen Br'er Fox yelling at a frozen Br'er Bear. They were genuinely creeped by the lack of life/movement in the Laughin' Place and they told me the finale was hard to see in its current shape (Many of the chickens and geese on the Zip Lady have died).

However, if they are still fixing minor stuff then maybe it has some chance of looking mildly decent when it goes
