They need to just put the ride out of its misery and shut it down. I think the ride will be silently closed in the winter, like it usually does for refurbishments, only this time it will remain closed until the retheme is complete.
I’d rather experience it in its dilapidated state than not at all. Those who have never been on it before and have no basis for comparison probably still walk away very happy and impressed. It seems a shame to deny them that pleasure just because it’s not longer being maintained as it should be.

I agree it should stay open until the day they close for the retheme. However I don't care if the ride is being phased out. The fact that they let the attraction get into this shape is unacceptable. Disney should do better.

I didn’t meant to suggest anything to the contrary. But given the reality of the situation—that they aren’t going to bother with maintenance at this stage—I personally don’t see any point in wishing for the impossible. Disney should do better, but they won’t. I agree that’s unacceptable in principle, but in practice, I suppose I’d be prepared to accept it in order to experience Splash Mountain before it goes away forever.

Oh I know you weren't suggesting that. It's just that Disney doing this sets a bad precedent going forward. Granted the Splash Mountain retheme is a special circumstance but Disney letting any attraction go out like this is unfortunate. Again Splash is an unusual situation but other attractions also seem to be lacking the TLC they need.

I'm alright with Tiana if they make the area around it a separate New Orleans section. It just doesn't make sense if they keep it in Frontierland.

Great...
Just leave out of the ride all of the elements that made the film enjoyable.

agree, I dont get what they are doing, if they are going to do this it should be based on the film, its characters, and music....something is really off.
Remember, changing the ride is not about getting the film in the parks. It is about getting Tiana in the Parks.

In the Parks
Yes
Jim Cummings has confirmed in an interview, that his character Ray will NOT be included in Tiana’s Bayou Adventure since it’s a sequel to the film.
More reasons to dislike the retheme.

That would most likely be impossible since Splash Mountain lies between main Frontierland and Big Thunder Mountain.

Certainly...
Princess and the Frog was a great film because of the many elements that made it great.
Not just because Tiana was in it.
Tiana herself was a frog through probably more than half the movie.
So, the mistake I speak of is leaving out so many of the elements, and characters that made the movie so enjoyable.
Thanks.

I dont see a problem with diversity and inclusion in the parks, I dont feel threatened or slighted by it. I get that it could be seen as corporate pandering and it is, but regardless including the first and only african american princess in a major way in the Florida parks seems like a good idea to me.

It seems like a great idea. One that deserves its own attraction, built from the ground up that can truly showcase a great movie, princess and the frog. Not a shoehorned attraction that limits the creativeness right from the start. I think most people fully support a ride for Tiana and princess and the frog. It's how they are doing it that rubs people the wrong way.

I hear ya, but I'm confident it will be a great ride. I may be wrong though, we will see how it all comes together. Also I think JoW looks awesome so there's that
