Told 'ya that a salt dome could be considered a "mountain" in Lousiana. They even toured my favorite one at Avery Island!

Of course, you don't want this ride to end up like the salt dome at Lake Peigneur!

That was an interesting clip! Thanks for sharing.

I was so very wrong thinking they'd wait near the end on Sunday to announce to avoid possibly undercutting the rest of what they have going on this weekend.

Anyway, back to Frontierland, if you squint your eyes enough it'll be okay. A frontier is is a region that forms the margin of settled or developed territory and that, frankly, is not unlike a bayou especially in the Princess and the Frog time line. We can still drive less than 10 miles from downtown New Orleans and see Jean Lafitte National Park and it looks ... like a different kind of frontier. It's not *western* frontier that's top of mind with Big Thunder Mountain and Pecos Bill's sandwiches a Splash that isn't necessarily western itself.

Someone call me a doctor because I'm starting to talk myself into this.
You are thinking too much into this, in Disneyland, New Orleans Square is right next to Haunted Mansion and Splash Mountain, the only problem does lie with WDW. Doctor.

I don't like the use of the noun adjunct.

"Scary" and "daring" tell you something. "Bayou" doesn't.
Really? The word “bayou” conjures up all sorts of associations. If we take you at your word, you’d be OK with a title like Tiana’s Swampy Adventure just because “swampy” is a true adjective (though one that’s no more descriptive than “bayou” in this instance).

Problem I see with it is how many kids will want to ride this but will either be too small or scared of the drop? I feel like for this ip it will be losing a lot of kids that would want to ride but can’t/won’t.

Is that very different from the current situation, though? I imagine lots of kids want to ride the attraction with the cute bunny statue outside it.

what a mess, I refuse to call this anything but splash mountain, if they wanted to tack on the bayou name thing after that or whatever fine, but they have some major problems with this entire thing, very poorly thought out. Frontierland is going to have to go and be changed to New Orleans Square,,but then you have thunder mountain next door..so......they dont know what they are doing. It works near fine for Disneyland but completely out of place here...and they are looking to do away with the mountain ranges and iconic names I take it,,for more generic adventure titles..bravo Disney, this will probably be on par with the mermaid ride in terms of style/design. where is the face palm slap icon. found it.

I think they're pretty unnerving and scary and dangerous, but that's just me. 👀😬
If you ever get the chance, take the river road from New Orleans up to Baton Rouge during the late fall. Worth every dime in gas you'll pay. It's absolutely a delight. There are more plantations and nature trails than you can possibly see in one trip. Highly recommended. These guys are a hoot to watch as they travel by bike:
