Easy choice for Disney. Probably costs peanuts to re-theme a ride while in-turn being able to market the park as containing a brand new ride.

However, it's just another example of pandering to this movement. The movie isn't a franchise and performed poorly at the box office. It also doesn't go along with the "Frontier" theme.

Because we're *not* Communists?

Yah it is sad, I’m 19 but I feel like I grew up in two different worlds. The first part of my life we could recognize the wrong things we’ve done in history, but also appreciate the contributions we’ve made.

My grandfathers who are no longer alive, but fought during WWII would be ashamed what this country has become. Maybe it’s good they didn’t live to see this
Yeah, it’s a shame. Everything is offensive nowadays. Even not being offended enough is offensive.

What branch did they serve?

Again, no. African Americans are people of African descent that were born in America. Haitians were born in Haiti. Dominicans were born in the Dominican Republic, etc.....yes, all of African descent, but not the same. I live in the Dominican Republic and I can tell you that the Haitians and Dominicans do not think they are the same. Also, most of them have no idea about this whole Song of the South issue..many of them have never even heard of the movie.
Can you please identify what "America" is?

No one here will talk about the potential the ride has. they just like to stick within their little bubble. such is the wdwmagic forum
I just mentioned it, actually.

Honestly, though, it does indeed have potential. I’d wager just about any ride concept does. I can imagine there being a lot of neat ideas here, but really, it depends on how Disney executes the idea.

THAT IT IM DONE!!!!!!! It wasn’t an issue now and if there caving to this propaganda now I’m not going there any more. Disney is going to far left rather than staying where it belongs out of the real world. Where all gods children, I stand by that all the way but this is stupid. You don’t like it you can remove me from the site. For speaking my mind. It won’t matter to be I’m done with Disney.

We're getting really off-topic here, but no, Haitians and Dominicans are ethnically very different. The population of the DR is largely mixed-race (Spanish, indigenous, black) while the majority of Haitians are black. And unfortunately there is a lot of anti-black racism towards Haitians in the DR.
No they aren't different. Language doesn't make you different. They come from the same island and arrived from Africa in the same boats. Spain killed all the Indians in those islands, Haiti and DR kicked out all the white people from Spain when they declared independence, and they moved to PR and Cuba. The ones living in the us are part of the African American community.

Which part, the chapter where Attorney General Palmer and J. Edgar Hoover arrest and deport people on mere suspicion of left wing (not even communist) sympathies, or the chapter where Joseph McCarthy and the HUAC pretty much scare the entertainment industry, academia, and government agencies from so much as providing a platform to anyone espousing left-wing views?
You mean the red craze "comitee of un-american" thing that lasted until a gigantic and supremely popular actor to take down?

We’re still doing that. There’s a difference between bringing up the bad laundry and refusing to acknowledge it at all. And America has always done the latter for black Americans.

also don’t put words in your grandfathers’ mouths. generally bad taste

You provided a public radio link. That doesn't bode well with certain folk.
The irony is that many people of the opposite perspective sometimes have a not-so-rosy view of public radio, too, albeit for different reasons. Unfortunately, I can't help if some people don't wish to engage with historical texts or research, but I hope that speaking allows others who are interested to explore further and learn more.
