I am pretty new to this board and rarely post, but I enjoy it. I do think there is a huge tendency to jump in with two feet on a topic without ever getting the full picture. The full picture of a commercial is does it hit the target. If I'm right in assuming the target is kids, then I think this hits the mark. If it's 50+ lifers, then this is a poor commercial. Who do you really think the target is? Be honest!

The target is both adults and children. The children will entice their parents to take them to a Disney park. The adults are the ones who will decide if they're willing to pay for a Disney visit, sometimes based on a Disney commercial. That 7DMT commercial doesn't entice me to plan a WDW vacation.

As I stated earlier, Disney has made better commercials. This commercial made me excited for Cars Land, though it's filled with nothing but kids, until the very end. The commercial is simple, yet effective, in my opinion.



The Star Tours commercial they did for Disneyland made me excited for the new additions. The commercial was clever, humorous and appealing.



Notice how both commercials don't actually show the attraction in action, yet it's more appealing, for me at least.

It aired during the season finale of The Middle this past Wednesday night.

Those are LEAGUES better than the Dwarfs commercial.

Remove Princess Fairytale Feces and Philharmagic. Create a ride version of Philharmagic with Donald going through classic disney rides (ones without rides) with LPS. Tangled, Beauty and Beast, Aladdin, Cinderella, Lion King.

Bulldoze Village Haus, cut down Small World, and use backstage space for Frozen c-ticket omnimover and meet and greet station.

Add a legit restaurant in Storybook Circus to compensate for Village Haus.


Does that make Fantasyland perfect?

Frozen should be the LPS E ticket, see my thread in the imagineering forum. I say put Sleeping Beauty in the Phillharmagic building. Keep small world as is.

Welcome on board. The engineer took a few "spirited" weeks off so the train has gone way off the tracks, but it's still a fun ride. You can't just watch. It would be like traveling all the way to Pamplona and not running at least a block or 2 with the bulls:cool:

I just watched the Mine Ride ride video posted here on wdwmagic.com. It looks to me like a very nice addition to Fantasyland. Impressive detail, nice queue, fun ride and great show elements. Overall, it looks like something we will enjoy. I'd say it is one of the better additions to the Magic Kingdom since the late 90's. To me, some of the criticism of this attraction reduces the credibility of some of the critics who have lambasted the "kiddie coaster". My opinion is that it's an appropriate Fantasyland attraction.

It is appropriate for Fantasyland.

I think the "kiddie coaster" insistence came in response to voices indicating that this attraction would be anything more than simply appropriate for Fantasyland (IE: an E Ticket, a game changer - it is not and was never meant to be).

Kiddie coaster or not, I know one 66 year old "kiddie" that is looking forward to riding it. :happy:

I think a lot of the criticism comes from the ride being halved. A ride that lasts under 2 minutes and will easily be a permanent 2 hour wait leaves a bit to be desired especially when it was supposed to be longer and have more show elements which are the most important part of the ride.

I think complaints about the ride length are valid, but to be fair, the ride is about 2 and half minutes long, which isn't really that short in the grand scheme of theme part rides. I do think a second indoor mine scene would have made a dramatic difference, though, by increasing the show considerable, allowing for more time with the impressive AAs and songs from the movie and making the ride time longer. No reason there couldn't have been a second room with the dwarfs again doing more mining stuff (or counting jewels or such). Oh well.

Would have been able to run another train as well as shorten wait times a bit. This ride will be a disaster to try to get on for a year.
