I would be remiss if I didn't mention that today is the 31st Anniversary of TDL opening and forever changing lucky American fanbois' impressions on just how well run and quality a Disney park can be (if TWDC doesn't actually own and operate it).

Was just digging through some photos. Here's a jealousy inducing 30 (+1) ;) minutes to celebrate...

Not available at WDW... for a variety of reasons.

I would imagine they are doing much like the rest of the Internet, patch, and hope nothing leaked. Until the data shows up in the wild, there is no really way to know if it was harvested.

And that is the truly scary part, they have no way to know what was accessed/taken right now, and it doesn't look like anything will show up that would clue them in. In this kind of instance, though, obscurity is usually the best defense, as they'll certainly have went for big targets (the taxpayer info, personal Andriod devices, etc.).

ETA: "They" is being used as a general descriptor, not referring to any specific company.

They are offering 35% off for FLA residents at their deluxes this summer, which again speaks to both their business model and softness in bookings. And MANY units at the GF, Poly and BW will all (conveniently) be out of commission for rehabs this summer.

It was the park hopper upgrade that I was surprised about.

I'm currently bar hopping while watching Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona (I switched locations at half time, awesome match so far) so pardon my asking what did I miss, why was the link was taken down? What's the big deal?

Here's something to chew on, how does UNI interact with the HP fan community sites compared to how Disney/Celebration Place interact with Disney fansites/blogs?

You know me... I always care! :D However, being part of the elderly set, it does concern me more that "Fran" was displaced, whoever Fran is! Couldn't you have used your faux 1% status to save her job?

Fran is a nice older, VERY full figured gal who is originally from NY and is exactly who you want making your coffee. She's just a wonderful lady and when DD got rid of her, I didn't set foot in that unit for over a year. She says she is happy at BK, but I actually think she could be doing far more with her life. She's just in a rut and, like many folks, no one is exactly saying 'let me put my iPhone down and see what I can do for you.'

How did you know that so fast?

How did I know what so fast? That Disney left its invitation site wide open with no security and that anyone can sign up to join the media whorefest? That it got pulled down here (it is out on Twitter now)? I know many things. I didn't know the site was open until a friend informed me. I thought it would be interesting to the community.

I am just a treasure trove of gems! :)

Well, I thought about emailing Dr. Blondie and telling her, but I just don't like her and I don't want to help Disney and, yeah, I just don't like her.

That's for MAGICal Steve to answer. I understand his reasoning to a point ... but only to a point.

I don't think it's his job or any of ours to cover for people at Disney who didn't do their jobs right, even if they are good people. I believe in putting facts out there and letting people decide for themselves.

More fun from DLP, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone at WDSP to promote the next Spider-Man:

This is why Disney doesn't care about no Marvel in the Orlando parks. There are many other ways for them to get the word out.

DSP is about to be the only Disney park in the world where you can meet Spidey.

But Disney's O-Town strategy is to pretty much pretend it has nothing to do with Marvel so as to not confuse guests who then want to head to IOA.

I can't answer that beyond saying UNI doesn't bend over backwards for any/every blogger/podcaster ... but you might want to ask the Parkscope guys, although someone needs to tell them that when you want to be taken seriously you need to get your facts right. ... Apparently, in one podcast they got the years that Fantasmic opened at DL and WDW (and something else ... I want to say when KRR debuted, but I didn't listen ... a fanboi minion reported in!) wrong.

But they likely know how UNI is treating the HP fan sites.

Also curious why any subsequent talk got pulled. I can see the link being pulled, but the following posts were all relevant regarding the topic of Disney's handling of social media.

On a similar yet different note, I'd be curious to know what Disney IT is doing after Heartbleed flaw in OpenSSL was found out. That was (is) a very, very serious issue. Of course I'm sure they've patched everything, or are in the process of doing so, but the entire time MM+/NGE was rolling out and being used/tested this was sitting there ripe for use without anyone knowing it could or was being used.
while the openssl patch was very easy to deploy.

I think the most annoying and time consuming was reinstalling and reissuing all SSL certificates.

Speaking of Leaks.. I read in the news that a very important canadian site that managed security and social codes and informations of millions of canadians were pretty much breached by the Heartbleed.. causing the leak of a hundred thousands worth of citizen's information.
