For all you fanbois (like @WDW1974) nostalgic for Mickey shaped butter, Universal Orlando has found a way to afford molded butter:

After the Springfield USA napkins, I really think Universal does things like this as a jape to Disney, knowing pics will show up on boards like this. Almost makes up for ditching happy hour--almost.
I kinda wish I hadn't just taken the time to read some of the posts from the last couple of days that I missed earlier -- because now I'm seriously hungering for a nice, juicy hamburger, and it's getting a bit late for dinner.
And without wading into the debate over which chain's burgers are the best, I will say that by far the best burger I've ever had at WDW is the Grand Floridian Burger at the Grand Floridian Cafe. "Angus chuck burger, butter-poached lobster, with red onion marmalade, crispy prosciutto, and arugula on a brioche bun, with chips." So freakin' delicious.

Some portions of the LR were really discouraging. I just saw the LR over a rainy 4th of July weekend with my wife. We both enjoyed the movie (the audience actually clapped at the conclusion---- always a good sign).
We were both put off by the 'heart eating'; henchmen throwing up; rabid rabbits; gruesome slaughter of indians; etc. You'd think these things would have been solved with advance screenings and some editing. We will be buying it on 'blu-ray' though. It's a gorgeous film with stunning cinematography.

well Lone Ranger is on track to be a total failure so I guess we won't be seeing any rides, shows, or attractions based on it. That leaves Oz as the only possibility for a Frontierland expansion at either Disneyland or WDW. Any word on possible attractions to come of that? I remember Al Lutz mentioned it was being considered.
Spirited Weekend Musings: So I was at PortMiami (as it The Port of Miami is hipply, or not, being called) today and all I could think of is 'They took my WONDERful ship!!! Where is she!!! Bring her back!!!' ... It was enough to make me want to climb on board either of the Carnival ships in port today. ... So, I think I'll be attempting a Lone Ranger viewing tomorrow. I've had another close friend weigh in (that makes nine) and every one has either called the film good or very good with lots of comparisons to the Curse of the Black Pearl. No one saying it was great, but all agreeing the criticism has been way over the top. ... Almost makes you wonder if Rich Ross was talking to every publicist he could in the past six months. ...No burger talk now, but I am old enough to have lived in a town with only one McD's which had four picnic tables outside for seating. For today's generation that's your version of being able to recall when Wendy's had salad bars (I am old enough to recall when many, but not all, BKs had them too!) ... I don't think today's younger people (say 17-34) don't care about quality. Just many of them have grown up with it being something from their diaper days. ... Speaking of which, funny how there's talk about the Studios makeover -- it IS happening!!! -- and how you can't take attractions out because there isn't enough there, but I recall the early 90s when there was far less and the park had to stay open until 1 and 2 a.m. DAILY in the summer because what was there was quality and was what people wanted to see. When most people view a park as a place with 2-3 things they are interested in seeing/doing, you have a problem. Right now, that park is TPFKaTD-MGMS. ...Anyone here ever been to the Pueblo Room? ... Glad Andy Castro knows I don't hate him and enjoy his pics. Just don't let him take 187 shots of his latte when the DL Starbucks opens (that's a joke ... mostly!) ... People upset over movie violence in the Lone Ranger or films/TV in general bother me. Why don't you do something about the REAL violence in our society instead of whining about entertainment (remember any of the mass shootings of the past year?) ... Anyone who doesn't believe that flying is safer than ever, should loou at all those folks who crashed in SF today and will live to tell the tale.

Gained five pounds from reading this.
Now I'm hungry too.
And that first 10 minutes of near absolute perfection in storytelling is ultimately why I don't feel that Up is overall that good a film. I can't get over how serious and heartfelt and ADULT suddenly degenerates into talking dogs.

And yes if you were wondering you can reserve your soda time 60 days out. <--- Hopefully kidding about that

BTW, I've only been in Barry's presence once, but was actually afraid to go over to him as he was surrounded by about 10 personal security guards ... this at an industry event that had its own huge security presence. No one else there from actors to directors to studios heads had anyone.
FWIW, I've been told by multiple people the same thing that ''Barry is the nastiest gay man in the business'' ... I dunno, personally,

That's just it. Some of it is taste. That's why we have country music and opera and rap, even though you won't catch me listening to any of it.
I liked all three films, probably in the order you have them listed. But who cares? They all were lovely films that were also financial successes. ... I have no desire to see the King's Speech and thought Zero Dark Thirty was the most overrated film in years, others will disagree. Doesn't make anyone right or wrong.
OK, you aren't into fast food burgers. What kind of food drives you crazy (or into larger size clothing)?
What I hate is people (and I have a few friends who sadly fit this category, but no @Lee isn't one) who think the restaurant is their own personal kitchen. They want to remake the menu ... yes, they'll have the chicken breast special, but no marsala sauce and shrooms could I get BBQ sauce? And the risotto ... can I get the mashed taters from the steak instead and the veggies are they steamed fresh or frozen? if frozen, can I get cole slaw? And can you bring me both Thousand Island and Ranch because I can't decide. And can I have a half Coke, half Diet with no ice?
Oh, and it's worse when you're at a McD's type place with them and you just get your order in first, so it isn't spat on (which should NEVER happen, but you get what you pay for).
Dietary needs (within reason -- again, even if your kid has some weird disease that only 678 people in the state of Arizona have ever been diagnosed with, the restaurant isn't your personal kitchen) are one thing, dropping an item or asking for a swap is easy ... but people really are crazy. I've watched people order and I see this isn't a problem limited to selected Spirited friends.

Larger clothing sizes? I'm a sucker for cupcakes.
I made an orange cake with homemade mango icing for the 4th party.... And came home with an empty tray. It was a hit!
I guess I'm kinda lame, I don't eat at restaurants often. I really enjoy cooking. Stop by next time you're in Pittsburgh. You'll never want fast food fries again after trying mine!
