Disney Springs, new parade, MyMagic+, carsland, star wars land, avatarland, imagination, lots and lots of rumors.... I don't think Disney is just sitting back and drinking coffee at this point... I think they are planning their next move and trying to determine how best to schedule it in the future
Yes but did you not hear what he said Disney's timeline for these would be?

Also I can't believe no one is discussing the fact that he said Uni is building a monorail! Lol the very thing everyone has wanted Disney to do for 15 years. Its too expensive for disney but not Uni That alone should highlight why spirit is saying Uni now has the upper hand.

Too late for what? Do you actually believe that, if WDW adds decent attractions (as you've noted), all the millions of annual guests are going to flock down the I-4 to Universal? I doubt it. All that Universal is doing will bring them up to world class-finally.They still have a lot of work to do to provide the immersive experience that WDW typically provides. I'm sure that Uni's parks will fare well, but with regards to this "Too little, too late" suggestion, C'mon man.

Too late to ever be the dominant player, the only game in town leader they once were. UNI already is world class, my friend. They'll never be dreams, wishes, MAGIC and pixie dust because that isn't their brand. But that doesn't mean they aren't already superior to Disney in so many areas. Take off the pixie dusted blinders ...Disney has been in disarray and decay the entire 21st century. All the while, UNI finally has a quality management team that sees a huge opportunity and is seizing the day. What do you see Disney doing other than burning thru cash like their the beloved federal government (who spies on us 24/7)?

They can't even safeguard a parade from the elements. They can,t even make a plan to remodel a mall in six years and stick to it. They can't even replace burned out bulbs around their flagship resort. Why would you ever be,I've or trust in anything they are doing right now? Seriously. Think about that and give me your answer by 5 p.m. FRiday.

for some not-so-good news, a few places are reporting an incident happening a few hours ago on the Rip, Ride, Rockit...apparently serious enough to warrant possible closing for a long time.

The only info I've been able to gather is that there is a "life changing injury" but that was from a random twitter post, so take it for what you will.
I literally almost fell out of this last year when it was going straight up. I will NEVER get on it again. My body slipped and I almost fell out. I grabbed the safety bar or I would have fallen 50 feet.

In other words, they have their thumbs firmly placed in their rectums and are just hoping they are out if the company before the you know what hits the fan and it will because UNI pllaying for keeps and Disney is acting like the same bully it always has ... With the same misplaced arrogance that our government displays daily.

That's not what the numbers are saying. Transformers has been really popular in both Hollywood and Orlando. It helped bump USH's numbers... USH received only a million (or somewhere around that) less visitors than USO last year.

I'll bite... Do you know anything about future night time entertainment for DAK? One site talked about "River of Light" with projections on the Tree of Life and a parade of floats on the water. There's also been talk of a World of Color type show with a dedicated theater. Some CMs have reported there being after hours testing of lasers and other effects.

Hear anything about this? Is there a time frame for adding any night time show to the park?

Totally in the dark (pun intended) about this. Rivers of Light was a night parade on land that was killed in early 2008 after millions were sunk into it. Joe was around DAK last week and had I known I would have tried to touch base with him. But I have heard absolutely nothing about any new night entertainment for DAK in years.

The negativity about Disney is a bit much. Universal has and is making huge investments and deserves the credit given here. But that's not a reason to hate on Disney. Disney just spent half a billion on New Fantasyland, Opened Art of Animation, began construction Disney Springs, has committed to building Avatarland, and likey will be making a large investment at the Studio.

It should be ok to applaud Universal without having to be so negative about Disney

No, it shouldn't. New Fantasyland is largely crap ... Never have so many taken so much time and spent so much to achieve so little is now a friend put it ... AoA is a tacky overpriced motel that was built out of the shell of a mothballed 2001 resort ... Disney Springs is a new name for a mall and nothing has happened on Avatar in the two years since it was announced.

My negativity about Disney has been muted because of large chunks of the audience here still haven't come to terms with the fact Disney isn't what it used to be and isn't the top dog in its own town anymore.

@WDW1974 what on earth happened to that disneyland plan to replace innoventions and autopia with an Iron Man eticket? As recent as last month a reliable Insider on another disney site said it was still happening and soon. Did it completely go by the way side for a bigger SW tomorrowland overhaul? Speaking of which, Do you know any details of the project or is it just what Al Lutz mentioned of putting speeder bikes on a similar peoplemover track?

Sorry, Neo. Not ready go out out DL info just quite yet. But Iron Man is a no go.

Honestly after reading now 50 pages of this drivel, i feel WdWdad13 is the only one that makes sense.... the rest of you are drinking the 1974 koollaid.... please sir tell us how we should think

I think for myself, thanks. I think that Universal, as an experience, is exceeding Disney, and has been doing so for quite some time. I think that Disney is shockingly arrogant, slow, mistrustful, and condescending to their consumer. They've yet to produce anything of true, innovative substance to their guests in years.

I think Universal just built an E-Ticket in under a year, has another pair of them brewing them for next year, with a Jurassic Park expansion the year after. I think Disney has an Avatar announcement that has barely garnered a pile of dirt being moved around.

I think Disney's corporate culture is slowly poisoning its company and, if not corrected, could result in its downfall - or at the very least, a steep decline. I think the WDW parks and resorts are a shell of their former selves and the potential they have (had?)

I think NGE, for the benefits it will provide me and fellow consumers and the opportunity cost it begs to consider, is the biggest waste of a billion, two billion, or three billion (wherever the final tally ends up) in theme park history.

And you know what? I think more and more people are starting to think the same things I do.

No offense to @WDW1974 , I don't need him to tell me to think that. He just happens to be an excellent insider with palpable wit to spare that I enjoy reading. His info is often quite solid, and you'd be wise to pay attention.

What? How? Iron Man is an incredibly popular attraction that will bring people from all over the world, I don't understand how it makes sense to stop a project like that in any circumstance.

If this thread was a video game, this response would have effectively defeated the Troll Boss at the end of Level 2.

Unfortunately, this isn't a video game and the there's no way to reason with a troll.
