spirit airlines to start charging for carryon luggage

I have ZERO problems with people being charged for carryons. Especially when I see some of the 'carryons' people bring.

Years ago I had a carryon bag that simply wouldn't fit in the sizing bin, I didn't even try to bring it on and told my parents that it wouldn't fit. We went up to the counter and asked to have it checked. Of course they were happy to do so. When I got home, I found the same bag (wheelable) only slightly smaller and bought that. I have been using it ever since and it slides nicely under the seat in front of me.

When I see someone trying to cram some over-stuffed monstrosity that never should have been allowed on as a carryon, into the over head bin, I get ed. People try to pack everything they need for a week's vacation into a carryon so they don't have to pay if their bags are over 50lbs. It's rediculous and if airlines would simply follow their own, already written regs., there wouldn't be a need for this.

I completely agree. I always check luggage and the only things we carry on are coats and backpacks that have activities for the kids. I am so tired of people cheaping out and jamming suitcases that are meant to carry enough for a few days, with a weeks full of clothes. They can't even lift them to put in the overhead compartment and nearly decapitate you taking them down. On more than one occasion I have been asked to keep my coat with me to make room in the overhead compartments. So I get to sit on my coats and the kids because some person is too cheap and impatient, to pay for and wait for checked luggage. I think they should remarket and just raise the price of the fare by whatever the current checked baggage fee is and tell people they get a free checked bag but will have to pay for carry ons or additional checked bags.

Ryan air will not be charging to use the toilets. It is illegal according to the EU. This was Michael O'Leary taking the mick and everyone believed it. Boeing also stated that it can't be done.

Michael O'Leary never jokes about making money:lol: If there is a way of him charging a toilet tax, he will find it:lol: Maybe O'Leary's pay-toilets are just a publicity stunt but then its free advertising for him and he keeps the story running:lol:

In the current edition of the airline's inflight publication, Ryanair Magazine, it outlines details of the plan and says it is working with Boeing to develop a system. If Ryanair were to pursue the toilet charge it would have to fit coin slots on to its fleet of 168 Boeing 737-800s.
