So we've been planning this trip for quite a while now(2weeks 6days!!). . . and we have been saving as well!! But I was just curious what everyone thought about spending money. It's just my boyfriend and I going, some things I have read show we have saved more then enough while others ehhhh. . . so what's the average??

BTW we have the dining plan so all meals are taken care of, we have tip money put away and we will be bringing things for breakfast and extra snacks so we don't spend money on food.

We budget out the random expenses as well. As a pair of teachers we are on a pretty strict budget. DD8 brings some $$ to buy a souvenir for herself, but we usually get her one nice souvenir a trip. We don't really have anybody at home we are buying things for. We also bring H2O bottles with us and refill at fountains. So, if you remove food (DDP) and tips (like you, we save separately for this), we usually go with $0 a day. WHAT??

Yup, that's right - other than the one gift for DD, we spend almost no $$ in the parks during a visit. I usually take 100+ pictures a day and those will be the souvenirs for us when we get home. Obviously, food and tips are a healthy $150/day (DDP is $115/day for the 3 us, then $35 for a TS tip), but that's it for us. Lots of self-control, sometimes painfully so.

We budget $100 a day. We are on the dining plan but we budget this much for souvenirs, drinkipoos, and misc purchases.

What we have is a little over $200 a day for spending!! ahhh it's getting sooooo close!!

We are going in Sept. and also have the dining plan. We won't pay for cheap plastic souvenirs, and after the first couple of trips, we stopped buying stuff to take home to friends and family, so we only take about 300 for the week and truthfully, most of it is probably spent on beer. We usually stop at the Tune-In Lounge, the Marina at DDT, Paradiso, and some other places in the world to just sit and relax for awhile....:D

Yeah we don't want to buy anything "cheap" either! But we have kind of made it a tradition to buy my parents coffee mugs wherever we go on vacation! My twin sister is watching our dog for us so I like to get her a little something and she has a four year old so I would hate to be empty handed for him! Also I'm a full time nanny to two boys (4 and 2) and they know where I'm going so I wanna get something for them! But especially for all the kids we won't spend that much! Last year I think I spent a total of $20- $25 on all three boys!

*side note: is it sad that we have yet to go on this trip but I've already started thinking/dreaming about next year's trip??!!

No limit. Have a ball and then worry about the scrimping and saving to pay back the CC when you return. Disney is not the place to worry about the pennies otherwise you wouldn't already be there.

Unless you are like us and dont have cc so it''s cash only..then you do have worry and make sure you don't go over :)

For how long you were there I could have easily spent that! We are not over spenders the rest of the year but I don't hold back in Disney! I hope you got a bunch of great stuff!

I should add - that is what we budget...but we usually go over. This year we are going to try not to go over since that will be $1000 for the 10 days we are there. We don't buy things for other people either unless it is something that I know someone will love - i.e. Muppet stuff for my bro or something in Epcot for my mom - but that is usually saved for a Christmas present then.

We save extra for the whole two years between trips and usually have somewhere near $120 per person per day. But that is more than most people spend while there. If it is just the two of you and no children, then I'd say $50 per day per person would be fine.

YES! This is us too! The only people we buy for are the people who watch our dogs and then my sister who watches my cats for us! We dont do the plushes, but we might have to with my 2 year olds Mickey obsession this year....LOL
