Spectromagic Question?

I was in WDW from Dec 30 to Jan 4 and the entire time there seemed to be something missing from Spectromagic. There seemed to be huge gaps between floats. What if anything is missing?

they use those gaps between the floats to shuttle people from one side of the street to the other- so guests who don't want to watch the parade aren't stuck in one area of the park because of it.

I never saw anyone cross mainstreet during spectromagic?

They cross from the center where the flagpole is. The gaps usually are in between units of floats. (I believe).

There are a few designated "Parade Crosswalks" along the route, and their opening and closing is overseen by crowd-control CMs. (look for the large signs on poles and Cms with blinking red batons)

The ones that I'm aware of are Main Street between the Emporium and the firehouse, on the Hub end of Main Street between Casey's and the Ice Cream Parlor, and at the far end of Frontierland near Splash Mountain and Pecos Bill's. There's also one or two within the Hub in front of the Castle.
