... yeah. I kinda figured that when I took a look t the booths listed for the F&WF.
Still... it was nice to speculate for a while, wasn't it? And, who knows? Maybe this can turn into something. IF Disney is, in fact, going to pour more $ into their parks, getting another country is not outside the realm of possibility, right?
... Right?

I'm sad about the news that Spain isn't going to stay. Not only does Epcot NEED something new this would have been a great project to undertake in.:(

Ah, but what about the Orlando Sentinel story?

The story is about discussion of a "real" pavilion. Construction for the Food & Wine setup has already started. Why would Disney be in discussion with Spain for a Food and Wine display that's already under construction?

I'm still pretty sure they're two separate things.

They are always in discussions with new countries to try and gain interest in a pavilion. All I am saying is that the press release a few days ago MAY have been referring to the spanish exhibit as part of the festival. It may also be the first stage of a permanent pavilion. :)

What the Spain F&W was going to offer was set in stone months ago, why would they be unveiling it recently...?

I don't quite get it...

Definately, the project being referred to in both of the news articles does not seem to be anything much like the temporary F+W Fest. mini-pavilion/booth. Spanish culture is not centered on the sherry of Andalucia or olive oil. I believe that if the project being referred to in the articles is in process, it is not directly related to a F+W Fest. One would have to think that perhaps Epcot officials may be surveying guests upon exiting of the new F+W booth. If people enjoy it, who knows?

Well, I'll be there and while I'm not totally sure about a Spain being a permanent resident, but I'll support if, for no other reason, than to get something else going for my favorite park... IMHO, the Magic Kingsom should be the soul of WDW, but Epcot should be the heart.

I was at the F & W Festival last year and I seem to remember little booths selling food from some countries other than the ones in the World Showcase. I think that's what I remember, but I could be wrong.

new pavilion

although i'm sure that spain would make a wonderful pavilion, i would like to see ANY new country be introduced. the last new permanent attraction of mention in WS was Maelstrom, and it has to be approaching 10 years of age.

It really is one of the prettiest areas in all of WDW (especially at night,) and it is a shame that more attention has not come its way recently.

Actually, the Spain pavilion was rather nice. I was there for the first evening of it (unfortunately I didn’t get to see it in the daylight and didn’t get to stop for it either :( ) but it was good sized. Anyone who has ever been during the Flower and Garden Festival may recall the pavilion sized area off to the right side of Germany that they have set a playground like area up in for the past few years knows where it is and there is a full setup with a facade that is two stories tall with a stage and seating area. It is definitely several steps above the typical food booth. If I get to make it back (which I expect to) I'll take pictures. :)

It's extremely well done. I would highly recommend it to anyone who heads out there. It couldn't hurt at all to mention to anyone who will listen that you like it, if you are impressed.

I've been out 3 times and it has been PACKED around Spain all 3 times.

Ok where is this Spanish Temp Pavilion. I'm going tomorrow so I need to know. (Heck I could always walk it or find a map)

Second -Do you think they will keep this Temp Pavilion and add on later? See that would be really cool if it was in a good spot.

There was an article in one of the latest eyes and ears about this topic.

It explained that there had been discussions with Spain, possibly mentioned possible sponsors, and that there may be future discussions about adding a full size pavilion.

I saw the Spain Temp Pavilion on Friday. It was sort of Interesting until you got up close. When you got up close it really looked like Temp.

I hope that in the future they add to the pavilion. I told a cast member that maybe they are using this Temp Pavilion to see how guest will react to a real Spain Pavilion.

Remember the Melinium Celebration???

As much as Spain would make a good pavillion, I don't think it will happen anytime soon. I remember that after the Melinium Celebration (MC) there was talk that some of those countries would become permentant, like Israel, Kenya or Nigeria, Egpyt, and the Russian Federation. Isreal acutally installed a ride for the MC. Why build a ride that is only temporary??? This Spain rumor is just like the rumors that surfaced after the MC. I know EPCOT needs something. I just don't thik a parvillion is it, unless it features contires from South America, Africa, and/or Oceania.
