Spaceship Earth Track Layout

For some reason I am always amazed at how the imagineers were able to fit such a long ride inside Spaceship Earth. I know the sphere's volume is huge, but I am always surprised nevertheless.

For that reason I have always been extremely curious to get to see the ride's layout. I have seen those for JII, PP, Dinosaur and others around here, so I am assuming someone around these boards must have that image as my Google research failed miserably.

I can't see them right now because my work's proxy is blocking them, though. I guess I will have to wait until I get home to finally put an end to my curiosity.

The links given are pretty acurate; do a thread search at this site for Spaceship in Spaceship Earth. There are lots of layouts in that thread ;)

I agree! So clever how they fit it all in!!!! And the rooms..(Or space..you know what i mean :) ) you go through is huge!

I learned something else about Spaceship Earth about a month ago. The ride was supposed to continue spiraling up an additional level. In fact, the floor is all there, but the structure could not support the additional weight of more ride track, scenes, etc.

Sheesh! I thought I'd never see that again!! THANK YOU FOR POSTING! <3 We were not allowed to take pictures in that area whatsoever when I took this CM tour back in 2006. I really really really wanted to though, I was in heaven when they took us up that slope. I was in my own little world, if I lived in SSE, that slope right there would be my room. HA! Oh goodness, I better get some sleep.

I'm assuming you got this picture from a CM, naughty naughty CM.:lol:

Wow. It doesn't look a bit like that picture. The floor is actually all cluttered with lead pipes and poles along with maintenence equipment. Maybe that picture was taken years ago though. :lol:

Ok, I have just finished reading through 901 posts after about three hours. What a fantastic thread! I remember seeing that thread when I started coming to these forums, but due to its size I never really read it. So I am glad someone directed me there once again.

I am now kind of disappointed I only did SSE twice during my CP, while I did other EPCOT rides many more times. Next time I am up there I should make up for that sin. :D

awesome picture!! do you know when the picture was taken? I've been looking for a picture like this. Have any others?
